सर्दियों का पूरा मौसम नसरुद्दीन ने अपने बगीचे की देखरेख में बिताया. वसंत आते ही हर तरफ मनमोहक फूलों ने अपनी छटा बिखेरी. बेहतरीन गुलाबों और दूसरे शानदार फूलों के बीच नसरुद्दीन को कुछ जंगली फूल भी झांकते दिख गए. नसरुद्दीन ने उन फूलों को उखाड़कर फेंक दिया. कुछ दिनों के भीतर वे जंगली फूल और खरपतवार फिर से उग आये. नसरुद्दीन ने सोचा क्यों न उन्हें खरपतवार दूर करनेवाली दवा का छिडकाव करके नष्ट कर दिया जाए. लेकिन किसी जानकार ने नसरुद्दीन को बताया कि ऐसी दवाएं अच्छे फूलों को भी कुछ हद तक नुकसान पहुंचाएंगी.
