હોટલ બ્લ્યુ સ્ટાર રાજવીર શેખાવત બાંદ્રા પોલીસ સ્ટેશનમાં ત્રણ મહિના પહેલા જ થાનેદાર બનીને આવ્યો હતો. તે ચાલીસ વર્ષની ઉંમરનો ભ્રષ્ટાચારના અજગરથી વીંટળાયેલો, ભ્રષ્ટાચારી પોલીસવાળો હતો. અત્યાર સુધીના એના કેરીયરમાં પૈસા બનાવવાની કોઇપણ તક જતી કરી હોય એવો એક પણ દાખલો ન હતો. અમીર અને ગરીબ બંન્ને લુંટવામાં એ કશું બાકી રાખતો ન હતો. ભ્રષ્ટાચારની બાબતમાં દરેક માનવ માટે એ સમાનતાનો ભાવ રાખતો હતો એવું ચોક્કસ કહી શકાય. બેઇમાનીથી કમાયેલા રૂપિયા રાજવીર પ્રોપર્ટીમાં અને શેરબજારમાં ઇન્વેસ્ટ કરતો હતો. એની પત્ની અને બાળકો પૂનામાં રહેતા હતાં. એના બાળકોમાં એક પુત્ર અને એક પુત્રી હતાં.
