‘રાજાબાબુ, રાજાબાબુ’ બૂમો પાડતું દરવાજો કોઈ જોરથી ખખડાવી રહ્યું હતું. રાજાબાબુ એટલે... રાજેશ્વર ગુપ્તા. છેલ્લા પંદર વર્ષથી રમાબાઈ ચાલની રૂમ નંબર-૧૦ માં રહી રહ્યા હતા. જોર જોરથી દરવાજાના ખખડાવવાનો અવાજ સાંભળી પથારી માંથી ઊભા થઇ પહેલા પોતાના ચશ્મા શોધ્યા. પછી ચશ્મા પહેરી એમણે દરવાજો ખોલ્યો હતો. દરવાજો ખોલ્યો ત્યારે સામે સુધા શબનીશ ઊભી હતી, એની સાથે ચાલમાં જ રહેતા મહેશ અને સચિન પણ એની સાથે ઊભા હતા. ‘રાજાબાબુ, મારા પતિને બચાવી લો. પોલીસ એમને પકડીને લઈ ગયી છે. પોલીસનું કહેવું એમ છે કે એમણે બેંકના મહત્વના કાગળીયાની ફાઈલ ગુમાવી દીધી છે. પોલીસ એમને હમણાં જ હથકડી પહેરાવીને લઈ ગયી છે.’ સુધા શબનીશ રડતાં રડતાં બોલી હતી.
