Third Person’s Pov


Anushri’s heart felt heavy as she pretended to be happy about the arrange marriage. She knew that she was doing it for her family’s sake, but the thought of spending her life with a stranger made her anxious. As the days passed, Anushri started feeling suffocated with the constant discussions about her wedding. She wished that she could escape from all of it.

“The engagement and wedding date has been fixed, engagement ceremony will be held two day before wedding” announced keshav happily she faked a smile to her family.

“When?" Vishakha ask
“For wedding the pandit ji has given 9th November date” Said vishal
“Ohh so soon” kritika(Keshav's wife)asked
“Yes because after that there is no auspicious day for wedding” Vishal said and Keshav nodded.

Anushri was now scared means day after tomorrow it’s her engagement she haven’t saw the groom how he will be? “what If he will older? Yeah off course he’ll 40 or maybe 45 that’s why they have fixed a marriage with this younger girl, I doesn’t know his name even dad hadn’t not shown me his picture” she thought got scared

Anushri couldn’t sleep the night before her engagement. Her mind was racing with thoughts and questions about the groom she was going to meet for the first time. She wondered if he would be kind or cruel, handsome or ugly, and if they would have anything in common. She tossed and turned in her bed until the sun finally rose, signalling the start of the day.

As the day progressed, Anushri found herself getting more and more nervous. Her small house was shining because of the lights, her younger brother Sagar who is 8 years old was running her and there saying ‘Meri bahin Ki shahid hai’ She couldn’t concentrate on anything and her thoughts were consumed with the upcoming engagement ceremony. Her family noticed her unease and tried to reassure her, but their words fell on deaf ears. Finally, the time for the engagement ceremony arrived. 

Anushri was dressed in a beautiful traditional saree and with adorned heavy jewellery which was send by the groom’s family. She stood nervously on the stage, waiting for the groom’s family to arrive. Her heart was pounding so loudly that she was sure everyone could hear it.

Finally, the groom and his family arrived. Anushri’s eyes met with the groom’s for the first time, and she was taken aback by his handsome features. He had a kind smile and gentle eyes that put her at ease. But the thing which was going on her mind that ‘Looks doesn’t matter, matter their behaviour’ what if he looks handsome but arrogant in inner side she was scared she can’t trust on the small things. Soon they exchanged rings and the engagement ceremony proceeded smoothly.

After the ceremony, anushri sat down with the groom and his family for the first time. Anushri body was trembling in fear. her soon to be husband sigh her to cool down calmly.

“Sanjay was right the bride looks so beautiful as he described her” Said Sanjana pednekar the groom’s mother

“Both look perfect couple” Said Sanjay looking at them

At the end of the day they took blessings of their parents and elders. Anushri and the groom didn’t get chance to talk with each other, Also she didn’t get a chance to know his name…
“What a marriage where a bride don’t know her soon to be husband name” she thought in her mind.
