Nothing can replace my best friend Tam!

A while ago, there was a little John around eleven years old. He had a great companion from the day he was born, his all rounder golden retriever, Tammy. Tammy or say Tam was thirteen years old friendly female golden retriever. As per human age, she is seventy-three years old. From his childhood, Tam and he was like a shadow for each other. They were inseparable, but as the time went by the cheerful and healthy companion health started deteriorating. When he was eight and Tam was ten, she was hit by a car while saving him. She broke her both of the hind legs which left her disabled for her life. Little John's parents took good care of her. From medicines to her poop and pee time, they would be there for her. They were grateful and hurt at the same time. Little John also play with her after school and gave up on human friends to take care of her and entertain her. Tam was happy yet heartbroken to see her human baby friend alone like this and taking care of her instead of playing. She desperately wanted to walk on her four legs like before for her little bravest friend who knew his responsibilities and gratitude towards others.
At night she would secretly tried to move her legs despite being pained, after half a year after accident. Inch by inch suppressing the pain she tried her best. After a month of practice on a stormy night, a loud thunder woke the little John up in horror, as soon as he woke up he sprinted for Tam thinking she must be scared of the thunder but it was him not her who wad scared of thunder but still he wants to be strong for his friend. There he saw her whimpering in pain as she was trying to move her legs. He hurried over there to help her forgetting his fear. He cried out for his parents who rushed over there in instant.
"Mom! Dad! MOM! DAD! Tam is... Tam is moving her legs! She can walk! SHE CAN WALK!", he shouted in the middle of the stormy night with joy. Parents were also euphoric. They all cheered in hope.
The very next day, Dad drove them to the pet hospital where vet revealed its a miracle that she can even move her hind legs. The chances of her healing was thin because of her age. It was a glimmer hope but it was enough for them to put everything on the table and do their best. Mom starts work from home, dad took him to the therapist and little John will always help his parents voluntarily with full dedication towards his hero who saved him and massage her gently with ice pack while mom will do hot pack. He never forgotten that day, it was as vivid as daylight in his memory, how she took the very hard crash instead of him and saved his life and future not only of his but his parents too.
But nothing progressed, Tam was only able to drag herself everywhere. Vet said it was nothing good, nothing bad. Everyone started loosing hope again and Tam was loosing her healing capability as she was senior dog now. The glimmer hope started to fade, hope started turning into despair, everyone gave up except little John. He can never let go of his hero. Meanwhile their parents offered him to adopt a same dog like Tammy for him and her but he refused them everytime. He threatened them if they bring that topic to abandon Tam, he will also abandon his school! He never let them explain themselves.

One day, at the regular visit to the pet hospital, they were greeted by a puppy who looks like Tammy. Little John was stunned to see him.
The dog greeted him with love, he also played with him for a while with Tam. After both of their check-up, doctor said, "You can take both Tim and Tam with you. Hope you will make a good family.",
Confused little John asked what he meant? Then with a calm tone he asked, "This buddy here is Tim, a precious relative of Tam. Could you take care of him also?",
He staggered, "No! You are trying take my Tammy from me? No! She is my hero and I can't abandon her when she didn't when I was in need. From fever to accidents she is the one who was with me twenty-four hour. I love her like you Mom Dad, don't take away her from me. I promise, I will be a more good boy so please don't take her from me.", he hugged her, pleaded and then he yelled in tears, "Nothing can replace my Tam!",
His mother took him in her arms and asked, "Who said this terrible things to you?",
He sobbed and said, "A neighbour nearby said that Tam smells bad and you should get rid of her and you just said you will think about it. Please dad, Tam doesn't smell bad, you told me that we smell different when we age when we visited grandma. Tammy is the same, she is perfectly fine but aged only a bit-",
Dad took him in his arms and assured him that what he saw was just to rid of unwanted talk, "Listen John, we can't always make everyone agrees with us, we all has different approach in life. Like, we can't like the same food, you like cake while Tammy likes chicken. Isn't it? This happens when you cut others in mid sentence.",
He nodded with his runny nose, "Like that we can't make everyone agrees with us. Sometimes we have to take one step back to analyze the situation then work on it with an open mind to find out what is wrong and where it we went wrong. That day, that neighbour uncle made us realize we were not giving that support that Tammy requires. So I consulted with this vet uncle who suggested us to adopt Tim who will force Tammy to work up a little courage that she needed. So you understand now? Tim is now your new brother who will help his elder brother, Tam to walk again while the second eldest brother, you will help her to get fit again. Understood? Now blow your nose.", he blowed his runny nose and ran towards Tim and Tammy and hugged them whole heartedly.
Little John thanked the doctor and promised him to take a good care of both Tim and Tammy, his little brother and elder sister respectively.
"Yes!", he said with excitement,q
"Woof! Woof!", both Tam and Tim barked with him.

After Tim adjusting in the household, Tim and Little John started their mission to help Tam recover. Apart from his regular therapy, Tim would always nag Tam to play with him. Given her caring nature, from the day one she supported her. Whenever he messed up something like, a day before he again messed by bringing green ball instead of red ball that little John asked. As per the plan little John would get upset and Tim whimpering act like he doesn't know what to do. So as his eldest he would always seek help from Tam, at first she would bark at the object, then as the time pass by she would use her paws then drag herself to the object, then limp towards the object then walk like a new born deer maintaining her balance. As the time progress, her health progress. That pitiful Tam once they had after that car accident came back to her previous self with the help of Tim's and Little John's pure dedication with his family support. She still has some motor issues but it was not an hindrance for her anymore. Now she can run with her brothers like usual. Little John's school friends and their companions also started hanging out with the little heroes in disguise.
