Trembling Shadows

A romantic, psychological thriller

Kotra Siva Rama Krishna

“I have seen that room. Sat on the double cot there as well. But……….” he stopped.

“What but? Tell me” Sameera realized that he was hesitating to say something.

“Either that room or the bed in it is not appearing good to me”

“I cannot understand. What that means ‘not appearing good’?”

“It seems to me that the bed was made like that for someone particular. In my opinion, we should not have gone into that room first thing. Second thing, we should not have used that bed.” In a small voice Aravind said.

“My god, what you are trying to say? I have gone into that room and sat on that bed. Is there something harm going to happen to me?” suddenly fear came into the eyes of Sameera.

Aravind realized that he did a mistake by talking like that with her. He did not think that she would feel fear that easily. Now he has to repair the damage. He suddenly laughed and looked into her face. “You really felt fear, are not you?”

“What do you mean? Why you are trying to make me feel fear by telling your assumptions like that?” there was anger in her.

“I just want to see how brave you are” Aravind said. “There is no problem either with that room or the bed in it. If you want go straight into that room again and sleep on the bed, do that. Nothing will happen and I can assure that to you.”

“You just said differently. How can you change it now like this?” she knitted her brows together.

“You yourself said that you went into that room and put that bed into use. But nothing happens to you so far. You proved that there is nothing ominous in it. You are really courageous and brave!” with an appreciative expression in his face, Aravind said.

“Please don’t say like that again!”  She put her hand on her heart and sighed. “Don’t try to play with me so at all again. You have made me felt very much fear”

“I did not think of so that you feel fear this easily. Certainly you are a coward.” The whole conversation until then seemed quite foolish to him. Their first friendship chat should not have been started in that way.

By then they both comfortably settled on the carpet on the floor there and were observing each other.

“Just now you said that I am courageios and brave! Now you are saying that I am a coward.” An angry expression came onto her face. “I am not a coward and if you call me so again I would not tolerate. But I feel fear in places like these” she said.

She felt fear when Aravind said like that about that room and bed but she did not want to take that seriously. Because she liked that room and bed much and wanted to spend most time there.

“Ever you have come to this place before?” he asked her observing the gentle movement of her earrings.

“No, this is very first time to me. In fact my father himself did not come here for more than twenty years.”

“Why, I heard that the old woman is your father’s own grandmother?” his forehead divided into two with a frown.

“There is a lot in this I cannot explain. My father’s grandmother is a very mysterious thing. My father says that his grandmother herself asked him not to come here so he did not come”

“Then why did he come here now?” leaning back again on to the wall there he asked. He was feeling indeed good talking with her so then.

“He said the reason for it many a time. You too might have heard that.” A little irritatingly Sameera said.

“I did not hear it at all. How I have missed while he was saying that I do not know. Why don’t you tell me about it?” In fact he heard about that but wanted to know it from her.

“I will, of course.” she drew a long breath and said. “My father got a sudden urge or feeling so strongly to come here. It was like someone saying to him strongly to come here. He tried his level best to get rid of that feeling but he could not. Ultimately he decided to come here.”

“Then there is really something in all of this” Aravind stood up, put his both hands in his pant pockets and then said.

“What do you mean?” slitting her eyes into small in their sockets Sameera asked.

“Something, some unknown power caused such type of a feeling in your father and made him to come here” he said. “Otherwise he would not have decided to come here at all”

“I have no belief whatsoever in unknown powers and paranormal things” Sameera too stood up and said.

“It has nothing to do with our beliefs or opinions” Aravind said little irritatingly. “Whether we believe it or not such type of things exist. Some people may never have an experience with them and think there are no such things”.

“I have expected that you would say like this” Sameera adjusted herself to more comfort on the floor and looked into his eyes and said. “I know about you very well.”

“I am a firm believer in them. I have seen them and I have got some experience as well with them. Whatever type of opinion it may create in you I want to be frank.” Aravind said. He irritated on himself the way he was talking with her. The first time friendly conversation with her should be nice and enjoyable. Quite unintentionally he was talking in some other way.

Sameera continued looking into his face and said. “It does not change anything. Even before you say this to me I know you are a freak of those matters. At the same time I know it is my responsibility to get you out of those matters and make normal.”

“Don’t talk like that. I do not like it at all.” On hearing that Aravind had got lot of anger and irritation.

“Its alright. For the present I am leaving. But I want to say one thing more to you” moving herself towards the door Sameera said.

“What it is?” the irritation in him not lessened even a little.

“You are even more handsome when you become angry.” Without looking back she left that room.

Sunanda was on the bed in that upstairs middle room. An unknown uneasiness crept into her. Whenever she thought about her past she was getting disgust with herself. Why she had behaved in such a way then? Why could not she be a little controlled? Why it happened like that to her? Or was it so to each and every girl? She could not understand.

Twenty four years Sunanda was having enough height to her age. Her youth fully matured and even after one year of her marriage it seemed as if her youth parts were intact. Her big breasts were firm and thrust upward and her narrow hips and bulged buttocks were not lost their shape even a little.

Even Sunanda and Sameera surprisingly resembled each other, Sunanda was not a stunning beauty like Sameera. Sunanda was also glamorous and her youth was attractive and firm. She was tall and elegant and she never had a skeleton body as at one time Sameera had. Even before her puberty and even at her tenth year or so itself she appeared as if she had got the puberty. Even more surprising thing was that the urge had got in her so strongly even before she had got her womanhood. She tried to satisfy her urge at that time itself. She still could remember the first time when she tried to experiment with his classmate in her house itself. There was no one in the house then and when she explained what game they were going to play in the darkened bedroom her friend terrified first. It had taken good ten minutes of time or so to make him understood that and at last they experimented with it but could not get complete pleasure. Later on she came to know to get the full enjoyment of the act she had to get her womanhood fully first.

After she had got the womanhood she did not hesitate to satisfy her urge with her boyfriends at the appropriate places sometimes in her home and sometimes in their homes. The first time matured sex was at her intermediate. On that day she got the strong urge for a man. It was so that she could not manage herself without satisfying the need. The means to that she  found then was her neighbor’s son who was of her age. She still could remember how much of tension she felt while satisfying her urge with him in the darkened storeroom. It was the first time full experience with sex to her after she got her womanhood. She did not know why but she had felt some pain too. Painful and pleasure-some. A paining-pleasure. She did not have taken any precautions in the haste of satisfying her lust.

Once that was finished a cold fear clutched her heart. How it would be if she had got pregnancy? She did not know what to do then. She had decided strongly not to do that wrong again. But luckily she did not get any pregnancy because of that wrong.

But that urge did not leave her even afterwards. It used to start in her even more strongly. On one occasion she found her maths teacher to satisfy the urge. That maths teacher was sensible enough to take precaution. Further he told her what to do to not to get pregnancy.

As her both parents spent most of their time outside, she did not face any difficulty at all in doing so either at her home itself or in moving out whenever she wanted to. Before and while performing the act she used to feel lot of joy, immense ecstasy. But once it was finished and the other guy retired there would be immense despair and guilty feeling. After every finishing it had become a habit to her to take a vow not to do that again but that determination used to last only until the next uncontrollable urge came. Sometimes even she could manage not to let her mind go on that with lot of difficulty, the friends who tasted her before used to compel her again towards that. So it had become a regular habit of her to satisfy her sexual urge whenever it was possible.

It continued like that for a long time. Her sexual passion not satisfied fully at all. She took precautions not only to prevent unwanted pregnancy but also her sexual affairs not to be known to anyone else. She could not know how and why it happened but her mother found out her weakness. It flabbergasted her mother and she could see the distress in her face then. “It is quite better that you get marry as soon as possible. What you are doing is very much wrong and no mother tolerates that but I am. I can understand how some bodies want that.”

“Mother do you think otherwise if I ask you a question?” Sunanda asked her. It indeed surprised Sunanda that her mother took that matter that easily. What her mother said was right. No mother tolerates her child doing such a wrong.

“Shoot” Malathi said.

“Are you too suffering like me with this urge?”

“No, of course.” There was a blank look in her mother’s face then. It seemed to her that deep inside that there was some struggle in her mother. There was nothing more than that to her question. “The immediate remedy to your problem is to be got married.” Sunanda did not say anything then. She felt very much happy that she had got such an understandable mother. Then Anand was found and Sunanda’s marriage was performed with him.
