Until now, we saw Aariyana fount out that Sofiya was behind the green board prank. Aariyaman and Danny were hurt and in the hospital, and Aariyana discovered that her tattoo means there might be two more victims. She visited Aariyaman with Danny, and they talked about how Sofiya created misunderstandings between Aariyana and Shayan. Later, Aariyana messaged Shayan to meet him at his home. Let’s see what happens next. Will Shayan believe Aariyana, and how will he react when he finds out Sofiya caused their misunderstandings?
The Dark Moon – Chapter – 7 [Tides of Tension]
The clock showed 8 p.m. It was Friday night, so I was allowed to stay out a bit later today—maybe until 10:30 p.m.? Usually, my mom wants me home by 9 p.m. on weekdays, and she gets really mad if I’m late.
I finished my dinner and went to say goodbye to my mom. "I’ll be at Shayan’s place," I told her. She looked at me and asked, "Is everything okay between you and Shayan?" I felt a bit sad. I never told her the full story, but she knew something was wrong because Shayan and I had stopped visiting each other. I replied quickly, "All is okay, Mom. Just visiting him for some schoolwork." I couldn’t even look her in the eyes—I lied, and I felt a bit guilty about it. After saying goodnight, I left.
On my way to Shayan’s place, I could hear my heart beating so loudly. I was nervous, really nervous. I felt this strange feeling, like I was so close to him yet still so far away. Could I really tell him everything tonight? Would he even trust me? I wasn’t sure, and that thought made me even more scared.
A message popped up, pulling me out of my thoughts—it was him.
Shayan: "Aari, you’re still coming, right?"
I replied, "Yes, on my way. See you soon."
Shayan: "I’m so happy to meet you after so long. Come soon."
I paused for a moment before replying. "Hmm." (I wanted to say something more, something that showed I felt the same. But I didn’t know what to say or if it was the right thing. And then there was Danny. I couldn’t stop thinking about him. So, I just replied with a simple "hmm.")
With a mix of excitement and nervousness, I stood in front of Shayan's door. My heart felt like it was about to burst out of my chest as I knocked. I could hear him rushing to open it, and the moment he did, he grabbed my hand, pulling me inside without a word. He wrapped his arms around me, hugging me so tightly, as if he was afraid I’d disappear if he let go. It felt like he’d been waiting for this moment forever, and he was so sure, so certain I wouldn’t push him away.
"I thought I’d never be able to meet you again," he whispered, his voice shaky with emotion. I stood there, frozen, my hands just hanging by my sides, unsure of what to do. He was so tall, and my head rested against his chest—I could hear his heartbeat, fast and strong. It was like he was pouring all his feelings into that hug, and I felt his warmth slowly melting my doubts.
Without even realizing it, I wrapped my arms around him, holding him just as tightly. We stayed like that, lost in the moment, feeling everything we had been holding back for so long.
After what felt like forever, he pulled back just a little, looking into my eyes with a soft smile. "Do you want to sit down?" he asked, his voice gentle. "But honestly, I could stay like this forever." His words made my heart skip a beat, and for a second.
Now, I felt a little awkward, my cheeks burning as I blushed. I let him go and took a seat on his bed. It felt like we had so much to talk about, and meeting Shayan after months, just the two of us alone, felt like our first date. But this time, it was awkward because I had a perfect caring boyfriend, Danny. I reminded myself of that, and the weight of it made my heart feel heavy.
Shayan: "So, Aari, why did you suddenly decide to meet me? You know I’ve missed you so much." His voice was warm, and his small eyes sparkled with hope.
Aariyana: "Shayan…" I felt my heart racing as I tried to think of what to say.
Shayan: "Yes, Aari," he said, clearly happy to hear his name from my lips, a smile forming on his face.
Aariyana: "I have so much to tell you, but first, I found out who is behind the green board prank."
Shayan: "Who the hell is it? Who’s trying to trouble you so much?" Concern filled his voice, and I could see the worry etched on his face.
Aariyana: Fearfully, I replied, "Sofiya," and then I stopped, feeling a weight in the air.
Shayan: His expression turned to shock, annoyance, and irritation, his eyes staring at me in disbelief.
Aariyana: "Tell me you believe me, Shayan. Please, say something!"
Shayan: "I don’t understand why you always bring Sofiya into this. We’re finally meeting after so long, just you and me, and you want to ruin it?" His voice rose with frustration, and I felt a pang of hurt.
Aariyana: "What the heck? For God’s sake, I’m not bringing her between us! You are, because she’s your best friend! She loves creating misunderstandings between us. But why would you believe me? You don’t trust me." My voice shook with anger and desperation.
Shayan: "Yes, Sofiya is my best friend, but YOU, Aariyana… damn it, I LIKE YOU! Why can’t you understand that?" His eyes were intense, filled with a mix of frustration and longing.
Aariyana: (Annoyed) "If you like me, you should trust me. It’s as simple as that. Your actions and words don’t match. I do have proof that it’s her, that bitch. But does it even matter? If I show you the proof, you will still choose her every freaking time over me."
Shayan: "Aari, come on, not again. Why do I have to choose every time? Why can’t she be my best friend and you…?"
Aariyana: "That will never happen! She has always tried to create misunderstandings between us, and here she goes again. Sofiya wins, and I lose."
Shayan: "Aari, please, this isn’t a game. It’s life. Relationships can be complex, and you need to accept that. Say we all agree she did it. I don’t understand why she would do this. She knows when you’re sad, I am too."
Aariyana: "How dumb can you be? You have no idea! She freaking loves you! She never wants to see me close to you. And you know what? You like her so damn much as a best friend that you don’t realize how much you hurt me. I know relationships are complex, but you need to know how to prioritize. She’s the one trying to ruin my reputation with her stupid prank, and you’d still side with her."
Shayan: "I really don’t know what to say. I need to talk to Sofiya. It’s not like I don’t trust you, Aari. But it feels like I’m always stuck between you two, choosing and losing every time. I want to make things right between us. Trust me, please."
Aariyana: "No, I don’t trust you. Never again. You still want to talk to Sofiya? Go ahead! I’m leaving. God knows why I thought it would be a good idea to meet you. I should have known you would never believe me. The proof is on a pendrive. I’ll hand it to you; check it yourself. Stupid me, thinking I wouldn’t need proof, and you would trust my words. Ugh! Bye!"
I slammed the door and walked out. Shayan called after me, shouting my name and saying, “I hate it when you leave conversations like this unfinished!” Yes that’s me; I didn’t want to continue when I knew it could get worse. I ignored him and kept walking, tears streaming down my cheeks. I felt utterly heartbroken. This wasn’t the first time; maybe I shouldn’t visit him anymore. Every time I did, I ended up crying on my way home.
I knew he was still standing at the door, still calling my name. I could hear him, but I kept moving. I didn’t even know what hurt me so much. Was it Shayan not trusting me? Or was it that he still wanted to talk to Sofiya? It felt like he was choosing her over me. Was I feeling jealousy?
I kept wiping my tears. How could Sofiya create so much trouble between us without even being there? She had been with Shayan forever and was so caring toward him that he never saw her other, more selfish side. I told myself, “It’s not my fault that he is blind.”
I was angry, annoyed, sad, and still crying. When I finally reached home, I went straight to my bed. I had gone there to tell him about the stupid tattoo and how he could be the next victim, so he should be careful. But look how it ended! Why couldn’t we just be normal friends who communicated well and understood each other? Here I was, still worried about him, hoping he wouldn’t get hurt, while at the same time so angry that I couldn’t even stand him.
I noticed messages from Danny.
Danny: “Hey darling, how are you doing?”
I should be the one asking him how he was. He was hurt, not me. Still, this guy was so caring, making sure I was okay.
Danny: “Were you able to talk to Shayan? How did it go?”
I came back to reality and replied, “I’m doing good, babe. How about you?” I added, “No, I haven’t told Shayan yet about the tattoo.” I was uncertain if I should even mention that we had met. I was so tired that I didn’t even see his next message before I fell asleep.
