Rain Flower
Kotra Siva Rama Krishna
Sometimes your body goes into sleep but your mind will go into only semi-sleep. It still to some extent works. In such situation you get dreams. As your body is sleeping it does not obey the orders of the mind then. That is why you don’t run even you get a dream that you are running in the street. The most lucky part here is whether the mind is in semi-sleep or deep sleep your body does go into full sleep. If it does not happen like that you start running when you get a dream that you are running. You try to do everything that you are doing in a dream.
Sometimes your mind wakes up first but not your body. When your mind wakes up that you can know about the surroundings, about yourself, about where you are and you desperately try to move. But as your body does not wake up it would not cooperate with you. You do have a feeling that you are tightly tied with something. You cannot even open your eyes.” Rose’s elaborate explanation came to an end.
“Exactly that was the situation I have faced. You just cannot imagine how much I have suffered.” There was satisfaction on his face as he knew that Rose understood his problem.
“I can imagine. Because occasionally I too suffer with this. In fact it is quite useful to us.”
“How this sleep paralysis is going to be useful to us?” Williams surprisingly asked her.
“It makes you to stick to the bed restraining from doing whatever you are doing in a dream. If there is no sleep paralysis you do everything that you do in a dream. In fact you can come to know about this sleep paralysis only when your mind becomes completely sober but body sleeps. If your mind is in semi-sleep that means in a dream state, you cannot be known about this sleep paralysis at all.”
“Interesting explanation indeed!”Williams nodded his head. “But still I am feeling fear that I may have to face this experience in future also.”
“Even in sleep paralysis also you do one thing for sure that you can control. That is breathing. Take long and deep breaths. That makes you conscious of your body and you can come out of this sleep paralysis.”
“Alright, I sure shall try it.” Williams laughed.
But he forgot to discuss about the dream he got just before that sleep paralysis with Rose then.

“Bastard, scoundrel. I never have expected him to be so. My brother loved him a lot.” After hearing what John has said, Jasmine raged.
“The point we need to know is, what that Tippu made your brother to see in that old palace.” John said as if he did not listen what Jasmine said.
“Only two people can say about this. One is my brother and the other is this Tippu.”
“No. It seems some more people also know about it. That Micheal mentioned a name Chief. Micheal said that Tippu felt fear thinking that Chief would do something bad to him. I am thinking that Chief also may be known about what your brother has seen in that palace.” He paused for a moment and said “There is no surprise even some more people also know about it.”
“How you can say so?” she curiously looked into his face.
“Just my thinking. I cannot say the reasons.” He hissed out.
“Who is that Chief?” Jasmine knitted her brows.
“He could not tell me about that as that Tippu himself did not tell him all. Only with lot of difficulty I could manage to abstract this much information from him.”
“You did a good job.” Jasmine smiled. “You are going to get the reward for it.”
John thrilled thinking what it was.
“How it would be if we say this straight to your brother?” John queried.
“We are not going to do anything like that until we put it into the notice of Rose.” Jasmine said with firmness in her voice.
John did not say anything to that. He was silently staring at her. In his psychic vision he was making her nude.
“Why you are looking at me so?” Jasmine asked him angrily.
“For nothing.” He smiled. “Tell me what is our future program then?”
“If we find out Tippu he does tell us what our brother had seen in that palace on that day.” Jasmine said.
“I do doubt it on two grounds. First, that Tippu became inimical to your brother. Knowing fully well whatever Williams going to see would have a bad affect on him, he made Williams to go and see it. Then even we do get Tippu, I am not thinking that he would tell us what Williams had seen in that room in that palace on that day.”
“If we make the police give him a little treatment, everything shall come out. Its alright, what is the next ground.”
“Tippu expressed fear at Micheal that Chief may do something bad to him. I am thinking that bad means death. Whoever may be that Chief he might have sent our boy to the heaven by now itself.”
“Why do we come to conclusions without doing our part of work first?” Jasmine angrily said. “We do give a police complaint first and then see what happens.”
“Alright” John nodded his head.
“Even before giving that police complaint, we do talk about this matter with our Rose. We shall see what she says.” Jasmine said.
“If you are having that much confidence on her, I have no objection whatsoever to that.” John said.
***
“It is not wise to tell any of this to Williams now.” After hearing whatever John and Jasmine have said to her, Rose said. “I have convinced him that he got such a situation because of lack of oxygen to his brain. If we say this to him now, he came to know that he really had seen something shocking there and because of that became mad so. Then he desperately starts trying to remember about that ‘shocking something.’ There shall be lot of pressure on his brain. What type of consequences it does lead then I cannot guess.”
“Its quite right. It is not better to say any of this to Williams now.” John too agreed to that.
“You have said that there is Chief. Who is that Chief?” Rose asked John.
“That rogue did not give me full particulars.”John paused then. “In fact that Micheal himself did not know about that Chief. Anyhow, that our Tippu is little bit careful. He has not given any secret out.”
“Once he comes into our hold I shall let him know how more careful he should be. Just because of our complete trust on him, he did it like this. Otherwise, he never could have hoodwinked us.” Jasmine angrily said. Whenever she thought about the cheating committed by Tippu, she could not control herself at all.
“First we are going to give a police complaint. I am confident that police sure can trace him out. Once he has been caught, as Jasmine said, the police can extract the truth from him.”

“I cannot bear this.” holding his head in both of his hands Williams said. It was twelve in the midnight.
“What you cannot bear?” as her heart beat speed tripling, Rose asked him.
“Some uneasiness. Something I cannot explain.” His voice was shivering. “Something dangerous. Something very much shocking. It must come out. Otherwise I cannot stay peaceful.”
“Cool yourself.” Rose put her hand on his shoulder.
He threw her hand away with an unexpected roughness. He never has behaved like that.
Rose understood that it was the first dangerous sign and she need to think carefully about it.

“Why you people did this much without informing me at all?” Margaret asked her daughter Jasmine angrily. “Are you thinking I am dead a long time back just like your father?”
“It is not so mom, please!” Jasmine did not expect this type of outburst from her. “I have not gone anywhere myself mom. It is that John who went to that village and took this information with him.”
“I cannot understand why he is doing favors like these for you? Is there something going on between you both?”
Both of them were in the Margaret’s bed room. They were sat in the chairs there facing each other.
Jasmine baffled on hearing that. She did not expect that a situation like this would come and she had to explain the relation between John and her. But in some way it appeared like an opportunity to her. She decided to say frankly that she liked John and wanted to marry him.
“Yes mom, I love him. I want to marry him. I cannot say whether I am doing right or wrong. But I have decided to marry only him.”
Margaret’s eyes fixed on Jasmine’s face for some time. Then she said as if she did not hear that. “As you said in the beginning, we have to give a police complaint without losing much time. Once police entered into the scene, Tippu can be found out easily.”
Jasmine expected that Margaret would say something contrary to her love towards John. But Margaret did not say anything about that relationship. It surprised Jasmine.
“Alright mom.” Jasmine nodded her head.
“Ask that John to meet me. I have to talk with him.”
Hearing that Jasmine’s face lit up with pleasure. Her mother’s face was not serious. It was appearing optimistic! “Sure I do so.” She said.

Jasmine not surprised seeing the anger in the face of Dibbu as she expected that. His face muscles tightened and he gritted his teeth.
“I am feeling ashamed as it was I who took him here. I never have expected that he would do this type of thing. He must be handed over to the police” Dibbu said.
“Alright Dibbu. What you can do? None of us have expected this. The big puzzle now is what that Tippu made my brother to see in that palace.”
Dibbu’s face contorted immediately on hearing that. “You are right. What it could be?” he too put himself into thinking for some seconds before saying again. “Somehow or other if we find him, we can find that out.”
Jasmine started this conversation with Dibbu when he came into her room with morning coffee. She was doing justice by sipping it before it would become too cold. She told Dibbu about their investigation into Tippu matter and what they have unearthed so far. In that process she told him about the Chief also.
“Who is this Chief?” Dibbu asked with narrowed eyes. Jasmine had seen surprise in his face.
“We don’t know. But Tippu is apprehending danger from him.”
“Surely this Tippu mixed hands with some wrong people. There is no surprise if they do harm to him.”
“But this Tippu is important to us. If we get him we can know the truth. Don’t you know where else he goes after his aunt in that village?” looking intently into the face of Dibbu, Jasmine asked him.
Dibbu nodded his head in negation. “I am sorry. I cannot say. That is the only place he occasionally visits.”

Margaret cannot refrain herself thinking about her past. However hard she might try not to think, sometimes the past was jumping onto the surface of her mind with force.
The two lakhs rupees came to their rescue for sometime. Her mother used most of that amount for her welfare and the treatment of her bedridden father. Even not on a full-fledged way, Margaret has to agree to do that occasionally and her mother was trying her level best to keep her away from it. But after one year or so the situation became difficult to them again. They must have some additional money to lead their lives comfortably and her grandmother, father’s mother, was insisting that she also has to be put into trade in a full-fledged manner.
