This is my second consecutive watched pakistani movie after a beautifully delivered masterpeice 'BOL' . And then this , and they made me fond of their way of deliver their artistic ideas in such a way , really just a hats-off or salute to the pakistani cinemas .
And other cinema industry like bollywood should take inspiration to it ,when they make movies with no head or legs while it is right that every movie carries a messege with them that had impact on the society but not in a way that so that cinema lovers got bored by viewing same kind (Ghisi piti ) of movies.
Now lets talk about The JOYLAND *The land of joy .Joyland ' carries emotions of all the sects in society , portrays in this movie.
Starts with the aiming to delivering within a right audience . All the characters in the movie are fighting for their existence . But moreover the story is about the two couples i.e. Mumtaz and Haider , mumtaz is an educated , self financially independent and highly passionate and intelligent women who does often support his husband , but at the same time , she is sexually deprived , she wants the company of her husband who is not able to make her sexually satisfied , and her this dissatisfaction create overwarmth in her body to get relieve from it she wants AC in her room. and her family wants that she delivers a boy to their family because yet another character in movie Nuchi already gaves birth to four daughters and she is not stands out at the expectation to have a baby boy .
I dont know whether it is right or wrong but this can be the imagination of the writer or the director to portrays the character of women in such a traditional and conservative patriarch society is unimaginable for the audience . Throughout the whole film this is very difficult task for me to accepting director direction.And then next, elderly Fiyaz aunty she have feelings for an elderly widowed man yet she is also widow , she spent her whole fine night in another man house portrays the feelings of loneliness they faced in last stage of their life but they had to submitted to the social norms of the society . But yes it is true to say , that none of the character are stated anything easy or clear to understand; whether they use some sign language in terms of media or to replace the vulgarity .
Then the character of Haider maybe the the whole movie was made by taking his character in mind and another are subordinate to it. He falls in love with a trans women (Bibbo ) , and they had some sensual activity between them , we came to know that Haider is a homosexual man with a different kind of feelings Faggot i.e. same feeling that bibbo wants from her .
And then the character of Bibbo , it is not easy to imagine a transwomen in a lead role and she delivers the messege of the society in which we all lived and faced each and everyday and again the song by evergreen Nusrat Fateh Ali khan ,, meri aakhiyan te saamne ni rehna her performange was og 🔥.
And finally with the death of Mumtaz make Haider alone and within the last scene where he is stands alone in the ocean made me clear that ,movie is specially designed for him ,that peoples like him are very intolerant in the society.
A society never accepted him or peoples like him. And now came to end of this discussion , again i would like to thanks pakistani cinema to make this wonderfull art peice because it is now easy to observe and deliver the issues that emerges in society in which homosexuality is new one.
Homosexuality is not new to humankind but in this modern age now peoples are become more aware of it ,yet peoples like Haider have to survived intolerent life in a society . It is a great or difficult task to display it but artist has this beautification to impress us through his arts works.
And movie title Joyland may be good option because everyone on this land wants joy in their life everyone have their own desire .As i said earlier this movie is made for the right audience ,if someone have the good taste of movies this will be in his movie lists.
