Have A Nice Day, Ma'am - Prologue

"Ushering, a city of dreams for many ambitious people. No, it's not really like Mumbai. There's no film industry here. Everyone here just works. 24 hours each day goes into sweating of lakhs of people.

In 2042, the government began this new union territory in the form of a new city and named it Ushering. With time, people of different languages and cultures from all around the nation arrived in Ushering and started living and working here.

Ushering was the first city that cut off all its relations with non-electric transportation methods right from the first day of its operation. Electricity is mostly created through solar energy. Some other methods to provide electricity on a non-sunny day are rumoured to be present but at least such methods are operating from the outskirts of the city. Ultimately, pollution was not a real problem here. Green plants are planted beside roads, which add to the fresh air one gets in Ushering. Also, no single real factory is located in the main city. In a sub-city called Ushering 0.1, factories are located. However, workers live in the city itself.

Ushering is also unofficially but popularly called the testing ground of the nation. Any new public service is first tested here. People of Ushering are since the first citizens to face mega job problems like the implementation of new laws and of artificial intelligence.

Talking of call centres, there have a little different treatment than most other call centres across the country. Banks in many cities have now stopped calling their customers from their branches. They now sign a deal with a call centre, train the call centre guys how to handle customers and handover the calling job to them.

There is a call centre in Ushering, named We Listening. It is divided into several divisions. The Heart Bank, one of the leading ones in India, signed a deal with We Listening just to avoid the huge population calling the bank.

In We Listening, there are multiple divisions. Office Division 4, 5 and 6 are the ones that talks with people, who feel lonely in this hugely crowded world. At a time when everyone seems selfish and are always cemented to thoughts for themselves only, a lifeline like this helps many people every day.

The implementation of artificial intelligence affected the jobs of call centre jobholders. Many companies, including The Heart Bank, implemented AI in place of the call centre and tested it for sometime. Initially, it seemed to be a success that too in a cost-effective way. However, the shock came later when the customers found it difficult to talk to someone who is not a human. AI could never really feel humane to the humans. So, THB and many others had to cancel the pact with AI company and settle down with We Listening again.

AI was helpful in many sectors but, apparently, majority of workers in majority of industrial sectors had lost their jobs and therefore, boycotted and vandalized their companies.

Office Division 4, 5 and 6 now effectively use AI. When AI replaced them, callers didn't find any human affection in AI generated voice. Now, the jobholders are back in their jobplace. Now, they use AI in order to help people out in various kinds of decision-making in different kinds of fields. The AI and search engine they now use are installed by Decision Makers Institute of India, which is a part of The Great Indian Psychology Department.

Call centre job, as per the ones working in We Listening's Ushering branch, is much much easier and healthier in their branch than any call centre in India. As per them, people in other jobplaces don't call them just to disturb. Also, there are many people working in different shifts so, labour distribution is perfect.

We are happy that call centre workers are happy in doing their jobs and living a good life. We found people calling it an extremely stressful job all over the nation but the exception is in We Listening's branch in Ushering....."
