JAKE
And the message sent. I am so excited for tomorrow; I can't wait to see Abby's reaction. I wake up to see Alan standing in front of me. "What are you doing here, Alan? How did you enter my apartment? How do you know where I live?"
"Woah, stop launching questions at me. I got all the information from Lea."
Lea? Did he see the message I sent her? What am I going to do? He can't know about this.
"Heard you don't have a car, so I thought maybe I could pick you up. It's already late. You will miss the flight if you don't come with me. Abby would be so mad if we show up late. You won't like to see my sister angry."
Thank God he doesn't know about the messages.
"Cool. I'll be ready in 10 minutes; just wait here."
As I hurriedly prepared to leave with Alan, my mind raced with worry and uncertainty. How could Lea have shared our private conversation with him? I trusted her, but now I felt exposed and vulnerable. I decided to confront her about it later, but for now, my focus was on the surprise I had planned for Abby. As I stepped into Alan's car, I couldn't help but wonder if he suspected anything. I hoped my excitement for tomorrow's surprise would distract him from any lingering doubts. As the car pulled away, I tried to push aside my concerns and focus on the joyous occasion that awaited us.

SAGE
I can't wait to meet Abby. It's been so long. As we enter the airport, she is there, sitting next to her friends. I go up to her to surprise her, but I am stunned to see her with Jake. "What are you doing here? Do you want to go to jail again?" says Alex, angry to see Jake here.
"Wait, Alex, I know that you're angry with me, but I did nothing wrong, I swear. Everyone here knows it."
"Oh yeah? Then why did the judge declare you guilty?"
My heart sank as I witnessed the tense exchange between Alex and Jake. Memories of their past troubles flooded back, and I couldn't help but feel torn between my excitement to see Abby again and the unease that settled over the situation. Unsure of what to do, I hesitated for a moment before stepping forward, hoping to diffuse the tension.
"Hey, guys," I interjected, trying to sound casual despite the knot in my stomach.
"Let's not let the past ruin our reunion. Abby, it's been so long, and I'm really looking forward to catching up with you.
And Jake, I know things have been tough, but maybe we can all find a way to move forward from this?" The weight of their past actions hung heavy in the air, and I hoped that my attempt to mend fences would bring about a much-needed resolution for everyone involved.
As I finished speaking, Abby turned to me with a mixture of surprise and relief in her eyes. I could tell she appreciated my efforts to smooth things over. Jake, on the other hand, seemed hesitant but nodded in acknowledgment.
"Thank you, Sage," Abby said softly. "I've missed you all so much, and I really want us to have a good time together."
With Abby's warmth and sincerity, the tension began to subside. We decided to put the past behind us and focus on the island trip that awaited us, hoping it will be a fresh start for everyone involved.
