Chapter-14

Sunday News

Sunday Morning, I sit with my aunt for breakfast and enjoy boiled eggs, sandwich and black coffee. She smiles and asks how are your friends? Hope to meet them next week. I take a sip of black coffee and try to swallow her question and reply that they all are good and I will bring them to meet you next weekend. I reply in calmer tone because I remember that what they think about me and it made me upset and I cannot reveal the truth to my aunt because I didn’t want to make her upset. Good! I really enjoy the company of your friends. Yes, I know that’s all I can say.  Aunt, what are we going to do after such a nice breakfast? Today I am in a mood to swim. She giggles. Great! summer is here so we must enjoy the taste of water. I go and bring our swim suits. I go inside and get the swim kit with me. She was really excited to go. We both enjoy in the pool in ‘Sammy Sports Club’. This sports club was built around five years ago by a group of youngsters who probably belong to rich family. They made separate swimming pool for and men and women but even if both enjoy in the same pool, then also they had built separate one for them.  Today again I decided not to take my cell phone with me because I was ready to get surprise in the evening and wonder what I am going to read about myself.

I take a deep breath and scrawl in water. My aunt also enjoys swimming. One lady approached my aunt and asks her if I were her daughter. Yes, you can say that. She is very pretty. My son Arnaldo is also here. See, he is swimming in other pool. I look at him. He was a muscular man with nice biceps. Gosh! he is giving more time to gym. My aunt smiles. What this lady is up to I turn and move away from them. After few moments my aunt turns around and happily tells me that she liked me and if I meet her son, she will be happier. Is she trying to fix something? May be, he is a good-looking guy Nora, you can meet him. Oh aunt! the man who has body can be less in brains.  l laugh and she laughs too.  We move out from the pool and order some snacks from the cafeteria of the club. I drink juice. How do you manage without cell phone? She was curious to know. It’s simple aunt when someone loves you and you love them too then we don’t need any kind of social platform. I love you Nora, you are so different and kind. One day you will have someone who will love you more than I do. I smile back.

We visit a photography exhibition and theatre show after swimming. I don’t like theatre much but I went because of her. The actor plays the role of a lonely girl who is abandoned by her near and dear ones and now she decides not to have any sort of relationship. She is happy to do all work alone and that dramatic turn that she faces really made me sad and evoke sympathy towards her. She is a brilliant actor. Her lover was a good actor too but he betrayed her so I didn’t like him much. This can happen to anyone this seems real. I said to my aunt in a slow tone and she agrees. Theatre experience amaze us a lot. I don’t know much about theatre but I came here because I love you. I love you too, Nora. She kisses on my hand. After play ended my aunt went to meet actors and congratulate them for their performances. It was not crowded much but whosoever was there they all enjoyed the play. I could say that because of their cherish faces.

In the evening when we come back home, I search for my cell phone. I check the messages with long breathe. Grace messages me ‘Brownie is missing you’. I miss him too. I reply her privately as she did. Margarete message also attracts my attention. Where are you, Nora? Please call me when you come back. I call her, bell rings but she does not pick up the phone. I decided to call her after dinner.

I go downstairs where my aunt was preparing the table for dinner. Soup and some bread. As you ordered honey. I have made vegetable soup and bread. Thanks! While eating she asks me about my Monday plan. So, you are going to pack today. Yes, I will and again request you to come along with me and give this flower shop and house on rent. She put her spoon down. Darling! God knows how much time I have; I want to live here only. You don’t worry about me if I need you, I will call you. Please aunt, let me know whenever you need me. I really don’t want to go but will try to take more leaves. No, you need not to just come here with your friends. She smiles.

I give her goodnight kiss and come back to my room and again check my cell phone. No message. I again try her number. It was going busy so I start packing assuming that she will call me back.

Hi,

Hi,

Nora, I think that deal failed.

How do you know?

Mr. Ethan called me and asked about your trip and when will you come back?

What? he knows that I will be back on Monday.

He sounded low and angry. I ask him to call you but he said to let her enjoy her weekend.

This makes me confuse.

Yes, Nora, I think he is unable to tackle this business and he needs emotional support from you.

So, you want me to become his stress reliver’s and she laughs.

May be. She laughs. Once you will come back the situation will be clear. She hangs up.

And I wonder that whether I call him or wait till Monday morning. I dial his number and then disconnect. No, this weekend is meant for my dearest aunt and no one can steal it. I will get back to him on Monday only.  I switch off the light and sleep because I knew early morning I have to go back to my city and back to my routine life.
