"Sam I am sorry I have to cancel movie night his Saturday" I said.
"What?!, Why?!" He shouted. I put my hands in my ears.
"Can't you talk quietly?" Brittaney says beside him.
"No I can't, Alexa you better have a good excuse!"
"Well... my boss is throwing a birthday party on Saturday and I was invited by Amanda I don't really want to attend but at the same time I didn't want to turn her down" I said
"If you don't want to go, don't go" Brittaney says.
"Yeah!" Sam agreed.
He just doesn't want to miss movie night.
"No I have to go, I wouldn't take too long, I will just show up, wish him a happy birthday then go back home" I said.
"Hmm... I have been thinking..." Sam said rubbing his hand in his jaw in a thoughtful manner.
I and Brittaney looked at each other and I am sure we are thinking the same thing
He is using his using his head for ones
"Why are you guys looking so surprised I didn't even say what I was thinking yet" He said
"On we were just surprised that you are finally using your head" I said making Brittaney snicker a bit.
"You guys are so mean, but I would tell you what I was thinking anyway, I was think that Mrs. Steven might be trying to set you up with her son" He said.
"Sam that's an unreasonable assumption" I said.
"Hey I am just making a suggestion."
"Hmm... he might be right" Brittaney says agreeing with him.
I looked at her surprised.
"I mean if he wanted you to come to his party he would have invited you himself or is it a surprise party?" she asked.
That makes sense
"No it isn't" I said.
"Ha look who isn't using her brain now!" Sam said childishly trying to mock me.

Today he is worse than yesterday, he looked very tired.
Doesn't he get enough sleep?
He was resting his head on the table, I was contemplating if I should say something.
Is he sleeping?
"Sir?"

"Are you okay?" I asked.
"Yes"
"You don't look too good, did you sleep well?" I said.
"I said I am okay."
Sheesh I was just trying to be considerate.
"Okay then you have an appointment by-"
"Cancel it" He interrupted me.
I got annoyed.
Why is he so difficult?
I heard a knock on the door so I went to check, it was Mr Fredrick his lawyer.
He came earlier than I expected.
"Good afternoon sir, I am so sorry Mr Steven isn't feeling too well today" I said.
"That's not true!" I look behind me to see him standing but he looked dazed.
Dude stop embarrassing yourself.
"Okay then I would come another time" Mr Fredrick said.
"Ok then, bye" I closed the door.
He made the right choice. I turned around and got startled when I saw Mr Steven a bit too close to me, he narrowed his eyes at me.
"S-sir I was just trying to help you, plus you told me to cancel the appointment b-but he came earlier" I said nervously.
He put his hand over my waist, pulled me close before resting head on my shoulder.
I felt butterflies in my stomach we stayed like that for a while. I didn't really know what to do in a situation like this.
"S-sir?"
"hmm?"
Wait a sec is he sniffing me?
I gently pushed him away "Sir are you sure you are feeling okay?"
I asked looking at the floor because I felt my face heating up.
"...Maybe you should go home and rest since you are not feeling too good, I will take care of things around here while you are away"
I didn't get any reply so I looked up, he looked hurt for some reason but he looked away "Fine" He took his things and left.
Why is he annoyed all of a sudden?

Since he wasn't around today things was a bit more stressful.
"You are finally back" Sofia said.
I signed and sat down on the sofa.
"So how was work?" She asked.
"Stressful"
"Of course work is supposed to be stressful, I actually meant your boss"
I signed in annoyance then I remembered what happened earlier today.
"Alexa!, Alexa!" Sofia called interrupting my thought.
"He's fine" I said before lying down on the couch.
"What were you thinking about?" She asked looking down at me.
"It's not your business, leave me alone I am tired"
She smirked "Okay then, if you say so"
