Part 3 - ( You read so far - Rekha goes to her ex classmate Rohit for recommending her for films. With his recommendation she goes to meet producers and gets her portfolio ready. Now read ….)

Rekha kissed Rohit’s hand and said “ I had already tasted it in the very beginning itself.”
Prem was also watching her activities. On the way back she said to Prem “ You saw what your sir said. I am looking damn beautiful. I will surely get an entry in this field. “
“ Don’t boast so much. You have not even stepped in. You heard what sir said - you may have to lose something too. Did you know what it means ? “
“ Yes. That I will take care of. You need not bother. “
Now Rekha knocked at the door of a producer. She handed over her portfolio to his secretary. After some time she was called in. The producer said “ Nice portfolio. Please follow me to my mini studio. I will take your audition and screen tests. “
There also she was touched improperly.She was well aware of it that this was going to happen. The producer said “ You must have heard about this industry. Here you may have to expose for bold scenes if the story of the movie demands. Are you ready? Sometimes you may have to compromise also . Do you understand ? “
“ Yes sir, I will not disappoint you. “
“ But don’t mind. You are not fit for movies right now. I will recommend you to some ad film makers. I can assure you, you will get a job there. Now you can go. “ The producer kissed her cheek and said
Then the producer called Rohit and said “ Yaar, what rubbish stuff you sent. Rekha does not deserve any role in movies. She doesn’t know the ABCD of acting. Her voice is also bad. However I have recommended her to an ad film maker. Let her begin from there. “
“ Okay, I just told you and another man to judge and give her any role she deserved. I don’t want any favour for her. “
After a few days Rekha went to the ad maker. She was asked to act to promote a condom company. The ad maker asked “ Are you willing to act in it ? “
“ Yes, why not ? “
“ Good, I will first teach you what you are supposed to do. “
She was asked to expose to a great extent for this ad. Sometimes the film maker and the photographer themselves removed some of her dress saying - this is needed in this film. Rekha hardly needed just a few words to say in the ad of a few seconds. After a few cuts and shots her film was ready. She happily collected her cheque and left. She thanked the producer also who recommended her.
She told Prem “ I completed an ad film. It’s just the beginning. I will show you what I can achieve, just wait and watch. “
After a few weeks Rekha’s ad film was shown on TV channels. Prem also watched it and said “ This is what you got ? You had to undress so much. I don’t like it. That is why Rohit sir had warned in the beginning itself.“
“ It was just a test for me. I have passed it, which means I have a future here. “
After this ad film was aired Rekha got a call from another producer for a role in the ad film provided she was not pregnant. She was asked to come prepared after two weeks. But in the meantime she felt nausea and vomiting. Her pregnancy test was positive. Without even informing Prem she got aborted.
She succeeded in getting another ad film of contraceptive pills. Then she further got yet another ad film of hair removal cream.Everywhere she had to expose and compromise. She got roles of duplicated for rape scenes in a couple of B grade movies. She got offers for a couple of item songs in Bhojpuri films too.She was happy to climb the ladder of success.But Prem was not happy with it. She got handsome amounts for her roles. She bought a car on installments and learnt driving.
One day, when Prem told Rekha to stop acting in such films , she said “ Now I myself want some bigger and better roles. I will meet Rohit again. He can do something for me. “
“ Better not bother Rohit sir anymore. He is a real gentleman and he tried to help you to the extent you deserved. “
“ What nonsense are you talking about? I don’t deserve better roles. Let me meet Rohit and you will come to know soon.”
When Rekha went to meet Rohit he was busy reading something. A smart girl was also sitting close to him on the sofa. Seeing Rekha, she left.
After a few minutes Rekha asked “ What is this Rohit you are seriously reading that you couldn’t even notice me ? And who was that girl sitting with you ?“
“That girl is Sheela, my new advisor. She has done Phd in Hindi. She assists me in my writings. I did notice but I thought I would be done in 5 minutes and I would catch up with you then. “
' May I know what this file is about ?”
“ Sure, this is a movie story. One of the producers has already seen the draft and tentatively agreed to produce a film on it, provided he could manage finance. I was just checking and finishing it up . So how are you doing with your new assignment? “ keeping the file aside Rohit said
“ So so, nothing much interesting. I don’t want to be branded for acting in films of such brands, you know. I want better and bigger roles now.“
“ As I told you earlier, you have to prove your worth in this industry before you are in a demanding position. “
“ But I have fulfilled the demands of all my producers so far.I have compromised with them.”
“ Foolish, I mean before you can place your demand for bigger roles. “
Then Rekha came closer to Rohit and caught his hands, she said “ At least I can put my demand before you.”
“ What’s that? I have already done what I could have. Your voice is not at all suitable for playback otherwise I could have given you a break in my albums.”
