Reacting Correctly can Change your Life-This Will Change Your Life
Are you a potato, an egg, or a coffee bean?
You would be wondering what it means. Problems are those which come in everyone’s life. But one thing which is different is the way you react to it. I know it is impractical to do so. But let me tell you, after reading this story you in your problems just think; Are you a potato, an egg, or a coffee bean? Your subconscious will give you the answer and I surely tell you this story is going to change your life.
Once upon a time a daughter complained to her father, “Dad, I don't know how I am going to make it. My life is miserable. Now I am tired of fighting and struggling all the time. And it seems as soon as one problem is put to end or solved another one soon follows.”
Her father thought for a little. Her father was a chef and told her to follow him to the kitchen. She followed. He filled Three Vessels with water and put all three on high fire. After water in vessels began to boil he placed potatoes in one pot, eggs in the second pot and ground coffee beans in the third vessel.
Then they both sat without saying anything to his daughter about why he did so. The daughter moaned and patiently waited, wondering what his father was trying to tell. After thirty minutes he turned off the burners.
He took the potatoes out of water and placed them in a bowl. He pulled out boiled eggs and placed them in a bowl. He then ladled coffee out and poured it in a cup.
Then he asked her daughter, “What do you see?”
She replied hastily, “Potatoes, eggs and coffee.”
“Look closer and touch the potatoes.” He said.
She did it and noted they were very soft. He then asked her to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed a hard boiled egg. Finally, he asked to taste and take a sip of coffee. Its rich aroma brought a smile to her face as it tasted very nice.
Then his father explained, “The potatoes, the eggs and coffee beans had each faced the same temperature and adversity which is the boiling water. However each of them reacted differently.
The Potato which was earlier hard but in boiling water became soft and weak.
The egg was fragile, with the thin outer shell protecting its liquid interior until it was put in boiling water. Then the inside of the egg becomes hard.
However, the ground coffee beans were odd and unique. After being exposed to boiling water, they changed water and created something new.
Now it is upon you, Which are you?” he asked his daughter.
“When problems and adversities knock at your door, how will you respond? Will you become weak and soft in front of that problem or will you become hard like egg or find a way which will change the whole problem to a solution which will help you be like coffee?
Are you a potato, an egg, or a coffee bean?”
I was happy to know that daughter got her answer and I am sure many of you also did get
your answers. Problems come to everyone's lives. It depends on you how you react to it.
But it doesn't mean that Problems are bad.
“Every Problem is a Gift. Without problems we wouldn't GROW”
