12 Things - 7 - Grocery Shopping

"It's gotta be urgent that you call me in the cafeteria", Anjali said, reaching out to Ajay.
"What were you doing?" Ajay asked
"I was busy with the experiment of finding reducing and non reducing sugar."
"Is it something related to checking the impurity in sugar? If it is, let me tell you, there is one shop, whom I highly doubt. We can go and blackmail them."
"No. It's something different. I guess." Anjali replied in a confused tone.
"I guess? Do you really have an idea of what you do?" Ajay asked teasingly.
"Blackmail...Are you a roadside extroter or something?" Anjali questioned.
"No. I am just low on cash, so this could get me some side income. Isn't it a good idea?"
"I thought you were going to take up some part-time job."
"Yeah. I am still searching."
"Okk. Now tell me the most important part, why did you call me?"
"Ohh. Yes, that's because I wanted to discuss the thing that needs to be done today."
"Ok. So what is it?" Anjali asked.
"You should not take this thing lightly. I think this is one of the most important tasks people do in a relationship. And there are numerous benefits associated with it like..." Ajay added proudly.
"And the task is.."
"Grocery Shopping."
"What??"
"Please please listen to me, don't curse me or something.. this is something.."
"Really... Grocery Shopping... And I thought you were going to say something weird."
"Weird.. like what??"
"But, by the way. Why do you require it? I mean your family must have taken care of it na??"
"Well... I am sort of a.. sort of a responsible kid of my family." "Ok. Fine, I left home last week, and now I don't have anything.", Ajay answered immediately, after seeing the tense gaze in Anjali's eyes.
"You... What??"
"I left my home."
"So, where are you staying now?"
"My aunt's place. She and her family stay out of town. So, I can use her accommodation."
"And money?"
"I knew... this would happen. So, I was saving my pocket money for quite some time."
"Good for you. See you at outgate at 4 then. I am going back to complete my experiment." Anjali said, rushing back to her lab.

"Are you sure you can cook? Otherwise, all this will be wasted", Anjali said pointing at the cart, which was full of pulses, flour, and oil.
"But then, what will I eat, if I won't."
"You can try cooking some days, and some other days, you can just eat at eateries which serve bachelor's pocket-friendly food," Anjali said, replacing all the eateries with smaller packs.
"Okk. Then, I think I can pack these snacks." Ajay said while putting some snacks in the cart.
"No. You don't have money for this."
"But.. I do."
"Yes, I know but since you are not at your home. We have to take care of other nutritional requirements too, like getting fruits and milk." Anjali pulled Ajay to the fruits section.
"You are telling me these two fruits will cost me more than 100 Rs?"
"Yes.. that's how rude life is. but it's not exactly me who is saying this," said Anjali pointing to the price written on the top of the fruit polybag.
"No... No... let's leave this until I get a job. Right now, I need something more important." Ajay pushed Anjali to the beauty section.
"What are you looking for?" asked Anjali.
"Mmm. Shampoo. Wow, It's also there, it's Reema's favorite."
"Who's?"
"Reema. I think I never mentioned that, actually she is my childhood friend." Ajay said quietly.
"It's interesting. Yup, you have never mentioned." Anjali said with a difficult gaze.
"Ohhk. Yeah. She is a childhood friend of mine." Ajay said with a politeness in tone.
"And..??"
"And she suddenly wants to date me."
"What about you?"
"I didn't want to."
"Are you lying?"
"Why would I?"
"The day she proposed to you, you called me to break up with me."
"Ohh. It's you, who actually took it that way, I never meant that."
"Took it that way?!!! I clearly remember telling you that I know you might like her, but please postpone your relationship for some time."
"Yeah. I remember that."
"Then?"
"Then, I might have been just overjoyed by the fact that we can date for real that I decided to hide this."
"But you don't like to lie!!"
"But I didn't lie. It's just that I didn't clarify those things."
"But, if you would have then I might not have to go through these things at all."
"So, do you regret that? You don't want to continue."
"Hhmm. I don't know. You better wait now..."
