Hi viewers I am not good at writing film reviews.. I don't deserve too.. with so much of effort they are making a film, but we simply sitting in our home and criticizing it.... that's why I said, I don't deserve. So here I am just going to share my few thoughts about a film which recently I have seen and it impressed me a lot.
The film name is Maara - a Tamil film, released in the year 2020, starring Madhavan, shraddha srinath, renowned artist mouli, Tamil stand-up comedian Alex and others. The film was directed by Dhilip Kumar, music scored by ghibran. The film available in Amazon prime video, i would suggest it's A feel good movie to watch.
The story line is, a small girl happens to hear a story in her childhood. After some 20 years when she become an young adult, to escape from her mother's arranged marriage proposal she is going to a new place regarding her restoration job.
There she finds the scenes from the story was painted by somebody on the walls of a street. Quiet impressed by that painting and also to find out who's the other person who knew about this story, she starts searching for the artist ( the hero). In the process of searching, she falls for him. The story goes like this. Not a regular love story, the stuff goes like that of what is called - a world cinema.
The way they braided the scenes was totally different and it adds to the charm of the film and the final out come was excellent. Each and every thread was woven amazingly to fabricate the film. Best editing I would say. The director, story and screen play writer must be praised for giving us such wonderful film experience, making of this type of movies needs an out normal thinking. Now a days the views of the audience keeps changing, gives a red carpet welcome for movies like this.
The credit goes to director - the hero, heroin, supportive actors all are not just acted in the film, they actually lived in their respective characters. They simply aspirated the life of their characters and portrayed it beautifully without overacting. Everybody well underplayed, that converts the drama into a real life event, we could feel for it.
Each small small characters we come across in the film like 'vellaiyan' who holds his legendary love and waiting for his lost lover for years together (mouli), the thief telling his own love story( Alex), the doctor girl who is trying to commit suicide, the boat man who interested in puzzles, the prostitute and her daughter everybody's small bits of life touching and stealing our hearts very casually. All supportive actors did their job neatly. For example, in a scene Alex is saying ' ohh....' three times, all the three times with different modulation, without any dialogue it completely explains the heroine's mindset. A lovely job done by Alex.
Everything in this film looks and feels good including the location. I don't know where they found that awesome hill station place. It gives a chill chill cool cool effect in our hearts while passing through those tea estate areas. The heroine's attire and accessories also very attractive and notifiable one. The Wall paintings also remarkable. Many symbolics also used in the sreamline of the story without calling our obvious attention.
Music scored by veteran music director ghibran , the songs are heart melting including the background score. Especially near climax the most expected ( by the heroin) hero entry was highlighted by the re -recording of the same song do takes us to Cloudnine state. The song 'yaar alaipathu' is the key card to the film's Victory. I want all of you just spare 2 minutes in your busy schedule to hear that beautiful song, you will love it...it totally relaxes the mind, heart, body everything.... lyrics written by one of the famous lady lyricist " Thaamarai" the best ever philosophy of life in simple meaningful words.

Who is calling me? And whose voice is this? Why does it ring in my ears clearly?
Our paths of life will become a stage for our life drama
Nobody knows who is going to be our co artists
Still the drama continues....
Searching starts with many unanswered questions...
Price less comfort occurs with that searching
I just tried to translate in English, with my meagre knowledge, I don't know whether it exactly reveals the actual cuteness of the song, it's only a trial for your better understanding of the song's meaning.
The actual meaning of the song is, we all in our lives bound to search something, we don't know what's our destiny, and where will we reach in that process. That's the beauty of life. Nobody knows what our lives possess for us, in the journey of life. And don't say the person will get lost in that searching process of life, the one who is searching sincerely, will attain the treasure definitely. Nobody knows what would happen next in our lives, that's the most ecstatic thing in everyone's life.
The movie along with the song is definitely a treat for our mind in our daily stressful life. Please do watch once and relax your mind. I hope so...
