Niyati seemed to have a perfect life: a dream job, a charming husband, an adorable lab, a house in the city of Chandigarh.But Niyati kept a dark secret, her perfect husband was , in fact, an abuser.
When Niyati met Jigar, her future husband, he seemed to be a perfect man : smart, with a dream job, kind and funny. Jigar created a magical atmosphere around her, a total illusion.
At the point of their relationship, Jigar convinced Niyati to leave Chandigarh and her life in Chandigarh and to move to a small town. Five days before the marriage , Jigar abused Niyati for the first time: He strangled her and pushed her against a wall. Five days later , they got married. Jigar was sorry and Niyati loved him , he was just stressed out because of the wedding. It was an isolated episode and they would live happily ever after. On their honeymoon, Jigar attacked Niyati twice and for 2.5 years , the aggressions were as frequent as once or twice a week.
Niyati was unaware that Jigar abused her
She loved him and believed he is her life.Also she did not leave Jigar because of the thought of society. She went on sacrificing her career, her dreams , her everything just for Jigar and family life.
However one fine day she got a new job opportunity in Delhi where they were residing and she shared this news with Jigar . However Jigar refused and rejected this offer. This made Niyati to ask Jigar about such behavior. To which Jigar replied that he knows that Niyati is more capable than him in terms of everything and thats why he is insecure. He also accepted that he wants to keep Niyati as a maid servant so that he is in good terms in society. Also he informed Niyati to not to share this to anyone.
Hearing such words from the love of his wife, Niyati was shocked and she decided that she will stand strong for herself now onwards and will not allow to be a victim of such abusive behaviour of her husband.
So she broke her silence. She told everyone and thought that this abuse happened only because of her silence. She told herself that nobody can physically or mentally torture her. She recovered her confidence. She told herself that she is the one responsible for her career, destiny. She is a new and better version of herself and she became a part of mission which teaches women to love themselves and say " No" to the abuse.
Niyati started job and turned out to be a Renowned Lawyer in her Profession . She also became an inspiration to many girls of the society.
Her message was " We want Peace, Love.....They have to understand Or the Nation will disband".....
For girls who has been part of this abuse in any way she said " Turn your wounds into wisdom"..
" Do not waste your time on unimportant things and unnecessary drama".
