Veg cutlet recipe
The best part about this recipe is you can use the leftover vegetables from the day to make this recipe or you may use fresh vegetables as well. Any veggies of your choice will do. I usually go for potatoes, peas, carrots or seasonal vegetables like spinach and broccoli. You can also use paneer or cottage cheese along with the veggies. If you are using fresh vegetables, steam them until soft or pressure cook and then mash them with a fork. Make sure to not let it be mushy. You can use bread crumbs or poha for the mixture. Add the mashed veggies in a bowl along with half a teaspoon of grated ginger, chopped green chillies, three-fourth teaspoon of garam masala and salt to taste. Add six tablespoon of bread crumbs or powdered poha. Mix well and make them into dough. Divide the dough into small pieces and flatten them into patties. Next step is breading. Set aside a bowl of bread crumbs or powdered poha. In another bowl use besan or gram flour and water to make it into a thin batter. Dip the cutlets in the batter and then into the bread crumbs. Make sure to gently coat all patties with the batter and bread crumbs properly. You may repeat the step if you feel the coating is too thin. Next, heat two tablespoon of oil in a shallow frying pan. When the oil is hot enough, fry the cutlets in small batches until both sides are golden and crisp. Serve with any chutney or sauce of your choice and enjoy.
Chocolate cheese Sandwich recipe
Sometimes your sweet tooth can make you crave sweet and savoury food at the same time. For such times, we bring you the chocolaty cheese sandwich. You will need bread, cream cheese, melted chocolate or chocolate chips, butter and cinnamon (optional). You can also use nutella if you are a fan.
If you don’t like the crusty part of the bread, you may trim it. Put one fourth of a cup of cream cheese in a bowl and whisk it till it softens. If you are using chocolate chips, pour warm milk over 4 tablespoon of chocolate chips and whisk it in a separate bowl until it melts. You can also use dark chocolate or chocolate spread. Spread the softened cream cheese on a buttered bread. Next put a layer of chocolate spread or nutella on it. If you are using melted chocolate, spread a pinch of cinnamon over it. Cover it with another slice of bread and grill it in a toaster or sandwich maker until crisp. Cut it and serve. Enjoy the sweet yet savoury treat.
