Disclaimer: This is the work of fiction as far as all the characters, their names and the names of all the events are concerned and all these are imaginary and hence any resemblance to the persons (and their lives) dead or alive, and any places are coincidental. Even if a few events might look realistic/’real’, these are fictionalised and the associated names are changed in order to maintain their privacy, honour, and security. No intention whatsoever is meant to hurt any feelings of whosoever, irrespective of their personal/cultural beliefs, social or political inclinations, religion-orientations/practicing/philosophy, life styles, and work/business. The ‘I’, ‘my’, ‘me’, and ‘mine’ (if any used) do not necessarily mean the author of this book, and these and other such pronouns: her, hers, his, he, she, him, you, your, yours, ours, theirs…; are used for effective personification and dramatization, and the readers should not take these on their ‘own persons’.

The readers should take these stories/verses/thoughts with/in good spirit. The presented ideas and material are based, where feasible, on readings and (thought-) analyses of scientific/other open literature (which seemed most profound and trustworthy), with as much care as possibly taken. The readers are requested to verify these notions on their own, and use their own discretion. However, these stories/verses/thoughts/ideas (mostly original) are expressed here with an intention of increasing awareness of the readers with a hope that in an overall sense, their (and ours) consciousness would be heightened (in all and multiple directions), so that we all can live our lives on this planet with true happiness, ever-lasting peace and real joy (irrespective of our orientations). The author and the publisher will not be responsible for any negative effects/situations arising as a result of reading these stories/verses and/or following the suggestions if any; and no discussions/dispute of any kind will be entertained at any time and in any way, manner, and/or forum; because the dictum is that if you like(-d) you read, otherwise ignore, what is the point in making a fuss about it?; anyway you are independent to judge the messages in the stories and utilize for your benefits if found useful, since here the idea is in the direction of ‘consciousness raising’. Simply Living…

Life has no answer:

Life has only one thing, one problem-which is, living (JK).

Unfortunately, we all the humans (or most of us) do not understand this at all. Hence, we consider the life and its living as a very difficult proposition, and make it more often than not, the complex process; we cannot really think that the life and its living (LAIL) could be so simple. So, we take lot of burden, and create lot of anxiety, and big hassles; imagine you are going to catch a train: you have the confirmed reservations, the train is in time as per the prediction, you know how to go there, you have proper idea and plan to reach there in time, and still you start making ruckus in the house for the family members on packing, water bottles, and food packages; and at the last moment you start searching the tickets, etc., not realizing that the intimation you had received on your mobile phone is sufficient now a days; and then about the ID card/s of at least the main person who had booked the tickets; and in the final event when you hurry so much and reach one hour earlier than the train's departure time, you have to wait, and again you start grumbling that you have to wait for so much time.

In such an excitement of the journey and anxiety, I once tumbled (thanks to the two young men who prevented me from falling totally thereby saving my head, my wife thanked them, I could not since I was in pain and still hurrying!) on the railway platform and got my right foot’s last finger-bone fractured, and I could not do anything except applying the ointment; and after returning back after three days, only I got the treatment done, and it took nearly 8 weeks to heal.

The man who lives totally, completely, every minute without choice, neither accepting nor rejecting the thing as it is, such a man is not seeking an answer, he is not asking what the purpose of the life is, nor is he seeking a way out of life (JK).

This is very profound statement and thought. But, due to whatever reasons, either of training or the cautionary advices that we might have received from our parents, teachers, and/or care takers, we have learnt to make too many choices in our life (we are over-pampered, or 'spoilt'), and even in daily living: I want only that colour thing, I like only hot food, only juice and no butter milk, I do not like that person at all, I hate that guy, I like that lady only, I like that act only, I cannot go in a taxi without AC; etc.

If we do not worry too much about the choices, then perhaps we do not have many questions, and we do not need many answers, if the things are not as they are: why AC is not on?, why that colour saari is not available?, why do you not serve the coke?, why that guy is invited to this function (even if that event is not yours at all!)?, why are you not keeping all the brands of shoes in your shop?, and so on…

Also, we being very intelligent humans, we (of course not all, though) always seek some purpose in our lives, and living: I should do this and this, if I do not do this then it would create a havoc!, and so on…

This perhaps does not mean that we cannot have the aim and goal in our lives, but we should not overly get attached to these and keep blowing our trumpet all the time, and keep talking of these goals so much, that we often forget what we really had aimed for. May be not to have any goal and live life aimlessly is not easy to digest for many of us; we might be dubbed vagabond, and ‘bindaas’, which might not be so palatable to us. Perhaps, our minds do not allow us to live our lives in a simple manner, and we need to develop some different level of attitudes and behaviours, but…

But that requires great insight into oneself (JK).

Practicing the concept of the foregoing second thought requires a terrific insight in to the life and its existence. Ironically and yet very interestingly, the entire Cosmos, the Vast Universe has no long term goal, and it is aimlessly expanding outwards. But, the humans, unfortunately cannot live without any goal, because we have not trained our minds to live in this ‘carefree’ state of our minds/selves. This does not mean that we should live our lives carelessly; we should not became burden to our fellow beings, society as well as to our own selves; we should still live with discipline, safety and security, but our state of mind should be 'carefree', i.e. choiceless, desireless, without dualities; we should/can do manythings, but by feeling that we are 'not' doing anything, in the sense of pure spirituality, and not in the sense of insensitivity to the society at large; we should live bondless life with unbounded energy and spirit, even within the boundaries of our situations which we might be facing in our daily lives; we should live with love without any attachment; we should even renounce the 'renouncer' within us; that is the real 'carefree' living, and is the 'simply living' as the master pronounces profoundly.

A lot pondering is needed on these two last thoughts as expressed by JK. We need to go much deeper into the inner realm and fathom the vast treasure that we, perhaps have in our own ‘self’.

Simply living is in principle possible, but in practice it requires lot of guts/courage, and deeper insight into the mystery of Life and Its Living.
