BEST INDOOR GAMES

Corona virus has brought the entire world to a standstill and everyone has taken the plunge. Kids are locked down too and if you think more closely, as per school calendar, it is summer vacations now. Not that it makes quite a difference but kids have been now caged for too long. No books to study and no homeworks to finish, they also cannot go out in the parks or visit their grandparents at home. Kids are bored and as a solution most of their time is spent of mobile phones, playing video games or watching too much cartoon. This lockdown has been so long now that ludo and carom have become boring. In this article, we will talk about some fun interesting games that you can play indoor to have fun and keep your kids engaged.

Pictionary

This game lets your kid do their art along with having some fun. One kid will draw a certain image and the other one has to guess what the first person is drawing correctly. For this game you will need a whiteboard or you can also tape a paper on a board and a marker pen. Make chits and write down several options that the kids can draw. Place these chits in a bowl. The person who will draw will pick up a chit from the bowl and without showing it to the other kid proceeds to draw it on the whiteboard. The other kid will guess and if they guess correctly will win a point. You can also make groups and have them compete against each other.

Musical Pose or freeze

Grab a speaker and let your kid dance to the tune of their favourite song. This one is a very easy yet extremely entertaining game. It can be enjoyed with kids or adults can play it too. Play the music and everybody will dance to its tune until the music stops suddenly. The participants will need to freeze in the positions they were dancing in. The person who will stand frozen the longest will win. To make it more challenging, you can also decide upon a bunch of positions or specific postures for the kids to pose in. The larger the group of people, the more fun this game can get.

Balancing beam

No, you don’t require a beam for this game. To play this game you need adhesive tapes of different colour and obstacles. This game will help your kid to develop motor skills and improve balance in toddlers.

Stick different coloured tapes on the floor and decide rules for each tape. For example, walk with one leg on the black tape and hop on the green tape. You can stick the tapes in different patterns and the kids need to follow the rules of the game without falling off. The kid who stays on the tape the longest will win. If he falls, he will be out of the game. Make the game interesting by frequently changing the rule.
