There are many places in our country that have earned such a reputation and are some of the most famous or rather infamously haunted places. Bhangarh Fort
Situated in Alwar, Rajasthan is considered to be one of the most haunted places in India. So much so that it is believed that the Archaeological Survey of India legally prohibits people from entering the property after sunset. It is located on the road that connects Alwar to Jaipur. No households or village can be found in the periphery of the fort and it is believed that any roof top built around the fort will collapse as it is cursed.
Agrasen kiBaoli
Even the capital city of India is not untouched by these supernatural beings. Agrasen ki Baoli situated next to the city centre, Connaught Place. It is a multi-storey structure built during the reign of Maharaja Agrasenin 14th century. Visitors report an uneasy feeling of being followed when they visit the place. It is said evil and satanic beings lurk in the shadows and dark places of the baoli and are at lookout for unsuspecting preys.
LambiDehar Mines
The LambiDehar Mines, situated in Mussourie were once fully operational mine that employed thousands of workers. Due to numerous health and safety regulatory violations the mines became a front site for several hazardous accidents and countless workers have been said to die in them. They are now abandoned and considered one of the scariest places in India. Visitors report hearing weird noises and periodic gut wrenching screams from the area.
Dow hills, Kurseong
The beautiful hills of Darjeeling also have a bunch of horror stories related to it. Especially the Dow hill is infamous of being a hotspot of harbouring evil spirits on its grounds. The Victoria Boys high school and Dowhill’s girl boarding school on the hill are considered to be the chief residences of these mean spirits. Echoing footsteps can be heard in the hallways of these schools. People report sudden periods of extreme chill and eeriness when they visit this place.
KULDHARA VILLAGE
In 1825, residents of 85 villages vanished altogether. The Kuldhara village is known to be resident for the Paliwal Brahmins who on a moonless night vanished into thin air. The village was left suddenly and even utensils and things can be seen today as it is as if the people there left in a hurry. The village is located near to Jaisalmer and is abandoned since the 19th Century. The land is said to be cursed to eternity and no one will be ever able to settle there.
