Shades of Life

Every shade of life has its own hue,
Each one teaches me something new.
Shades of life have been dull & bright,
Each one has had its own might.

They’ve cast a spell in all my miles,
Their shadows have followed me,
In my tears and in my smiles.
Let’s now sit and ponder for a while.

सतरंगी: Ever wondered how colourful life is? In every way, in the true sense of the word. All aspects related to us have many shades to it. Be it the basic survival needs or feelings or our relationships. Everything has innumerable shades to it, which automatically make our lives interesting and worth living. Let’s consider them one at a time and surprise ourselves with some of the facts which might have slipped our minds.

Let’s begin with nature. It’s fascinating and captivating. It never fails to stun us. The brilliant hues of greenery and wildlife can take our breath away any day. Hill stations and sanctuaries are places where we see an abundance of picturesque views. I call nature a miracle. No man has the ability to create what the almighty has sculpted.

Now we talk about our basic survival needs; that is food, clothing and shelter. Not only do we have the choice of colours and quality, but also there’s a huge range out there in tastes and varieties. Our tongues constantly want to experiment new flavours, try new dishes and keep thriving to satisfy the insatiable appetite. It’s a lifelong process, especially when we visit a new place, we definitely have in mind to try the cuisines of that locality.

Rich or poor, everyone dreams of living in a comfortable house and wear good clothes. Moreover the person puts in every effort to his maximum capacity to try and afford the best he can. We are always on the lookout for the latest styles and fashion.

Can you imagine life to be black and white like the ancient movies? I think the youth of today would die of boredom if that was true. We are surrounded by humongous types of entertainment. Social media, games, music, cinema, pubs, vacations, travelling, sports, the list is endless. It’s rightly said that variety is the spice of life.

God’s most wonderful creation: MAN. A unique combination of brain, beauty and feelings. If we carve our lives correctly, then sky is the limit to what you can achieve.
Of course there are failures. Who guaranteed that life would be a bed of roses? Ups and downs, sufferings and sorrows. They are those testing times which can break or make a man.

In one lifetime the various roles we play in different relationships can be quite surprising. With each one our tunning and treatment is according to how attached we are to that person and what is our relation with him or her.

For a minute forget the world around you. Even if we only consider ourselves, then every individual is a bundle of a variety himself. Aren’t we filled with thousands of thoughts and feelings, both positive and negative?

As you must have perceived by now that everything associated to our living existence has variety to it. It is spiced with several colours, flavours and feelings. Frankly speaking we are so used to all this that many aspects we have taken for granted.

It’s extremely difficult to put down in words, in one single article about the different aspects of life and the things attached with it. My pen would dry up, but the topic could go on. Nonetheless, what I can say is that we need to take a moment and appreciate the colours of life and how blessed we are in our own sphere. For a minute, no complains, no comparisons, only look around you and count your blessings. I’m sure they won’t fit on your fingertips.

I’d like to end the article with this beautiful poem.
