Palak came in front door of the office. Everyone was looking at her. She quietly took her seat & started the computer. She took copy to write something, but stopped. That colleagues' group was standing in front of her. One of them said, “We’re sorry, Palak!” Palak didn’t respond. Awasthi said, “We know that we wronged.” Another one added, “We didn’t realise the seriousness of it.” Palak said, “Of course! How could have you realised that? It’s just time pass for you, huh? Talking about your perspective, you’ve forgotten that those people too have heart, feelings & life too! They also have pain. They also have respect!” Third one said, “Please Palak, we’re guilty for what we’ve done. We’re ready to apologise to Karan too! You please forgive us.” Palak asked, “How would he felt at that time? Have you ever think of that?”
Karan & Palak were waiting for kids on a table in a hotel. Palak asked Karan , “Karan, why did you leave the school?” Karan answered, “Our sir was very bad. He used to pass all other & fail me every time!” Palak asked, “Why will he do this to you?” Karan said, “He was doing so otherwise how would I fail again & again even after studying so hard!” Palak asked, “Are you sure that you’ve answered right?” Karan thought a while, then said, “I don’t know but...” Palak asked, “Have you ever tried to find out the meaning of this ‘don’t know'?” Soon kids came with Johnny. Karan gave a hi fi to Khushi. After lunch, they all moved to the main exit. The restaurant was crowded because of holiday. Karan was following Palak. Kids were walking with Johnny. Soon someone shouted, “Hey look, Salman Khan has arrived!” Before anyone understands anything, everyone started running. The crowd gone worse. Palak tried to find Karan but she wasn’t able see anything. All split up. Palak started calling Karan’s name. The crowd subsided after a while. Palak was at a corner of the door. Johnny came with kids from another side. Palak asked kids, “Are you alright?” Then asked to Johnny, “Where’s Karan?” Johnny said, “I thought he’s with you!” Palak exclaimed, “Oh God!” & went inside again. They all looked for Karan for an hour but didn’t find him. They came out harrassed. Palak shouted on them, “Someone should have held his hand!” They all stood silent. Suddenly Raju screamed, “Bhaiyya!” Karan was crying sitting on a bench on footpath. There was an injury on his forehead. They all ran to him. Palak helped Karan to stand. Johnny called a taxi. After ten minutes, they all were in hall. Karan was sitting on Sofa. Palak was cleaning his injury with cotton. Rest everyone was around them. Soham asked, “Please tell us Bhaiyya, what happened to you?” Karan said, “They are bad people! They all pushed me out. My head also hit the wall." Palak's eyes started flowing. She put an ointment on Karan’s injury & then looked at him. Karan said, “It’s paining!” Palak said, “I don’t want to loose you, Karan!”
Palak was sitting on lawn with her neighbour friends. Sharda said, “It’s good that Karan is cooperating with you.” Palak said, “I luv Karan so much! So I don’t care that he’s...” Soon Radha came taking sweets with her. Sheela asked, “Hey Radha, where were you?” Radha said happily, “Have the sweets firstly!” Sharda asked, “Sweets? For what?” Radha sat down & said, “I had gone to my home. Remember, I had told you that seven years have passed since my sister’s wedding still she didn’t have good news.” Seema said, “Yes, we do!” Radha said, “Listen, there is a Santoshi Mata temple near from here. It is said that whoever climbs all the 94 steps of the temple on his knees gets his wishes come true.” Palak guessed, “You mean…” Radha said, “Exactly! My sister climbed those steps five months ago & see, today she got a good news!” Sharda said, “Wow! It’s really a good news!” Soon Pinky said from door, “Didi, Sameer Bhaiyya is on line!”
Palak was drying her hairs in her bedroom. She was thinking about the conversation with Radha. She was remembering her words, “It is said that whoever climbs all the 94 steps of the temple on his knees gets his wishes come true.” She looked at Karan who was sleeping near her. She remembered all the incidents with Karan. The first night, the party, doctor’s advice, the hotel…! She wiped out her eyes & decided something.
