Karan was looking at everyone. Palak was standing near him holding his hand. Mishra looked at both of them for a while, then said, “Okay, happy wedding Palak & Karan!” Palak said to Karan, “Karan, he’s our sir, Mr. Mishra!” Kran tried to touch his feet; soon Mishra said, “Hey, what’re you doing man!” A group of Palak's colleagues which was staring at Karan for a long time; laughed at him. Karan said, “It’s good to take blessings of elders, isn’t it?” Palak looked at that group once; then said to Karan, “Karan, We don’t touch feet in parties. Instead, we do shake hand.” Karan did shake hand. Kids were on a table at a corner. Soham said, “I didn’t like those uncles. See the way they’re looking at didi & bhaiyya!” Pinky advised him, “You better concentrate on your juice.” Palak was unwillingly introducing Karan to everyone. Finally they came to that group of colleagues. Palak said, “Karan, these are my colleagues.” Karan forwarded his hand. One of them forwarded his hand & said, “Hi Karan, I’m Awasthi, MSC English. And you?” Palak looked at Awasthi. Karan said smiling, “I’m Karan Saksena, & I’m in seventh standard!” Palak said, “Let’s go Karan!” Another of them stopped Palak & said, “Hey Palak, this is too short introduction of Karan. Let us spend some more time with him, will you?” Karan added, “Yes Palak ji, I’m okay with them. You go!” Palak moved to a group of ladies. Karan came among those colleagues. One of them asked, “Hey Karan, how was your first night?” Another asked, “But how did she get you? We were trying for her since a long period!” They started harassing Karan. Palak was looking all this from that ladies' group. When her patience got worse, she came to those colleagues & shouted, “Quiet, I say!” Everyone fell silent. Palak said, “It might be a part of joke for you, mightn’t it? It’s because you’re normal & of course, mature! He doesn’t have what you have. But he has something that you don’t have.” She turned to all & continued, “Do you know what it is? An innocent heart! But you’re unaware of innocence. How can you know it! Yes, I married unwillingly thinking that there’s something like respect. But you have proven me wrong today!” She turned to those colleagues & said, “Karan is abnormal. He doesn’t have capabilities of normal people like you. But being normal is such like this; then I’m proudful that my husband is abnormal!” Palak didn’t find Karan anywhere. He had gone inside. Palak said to all, “I don’t want to spoil your evening. So please have your drinks & then kindly, leave my home!” They all kept looking. Palak came in her bedroom where Karan was crying. She sat near him. Karan said, “I’ll never go in parties. Those people are so bad.” Palak said, “Okay fine, but you must have the dinner. You’ve not eaten anything.” Karan held her hand & said, “No. I want to sleep now.” He put his head in Palak’s lap. Palak started patting his head.
“I've studied Karan’s case palak!” Palak was in front of doctor. The doctor said, “In simple words, this part of Karan’s brain is injured which helps in being mature. Because of this, his mental development has been stopped. That’s why, he's physically of 25; but mentally, he’s of that age when he got injured!” Palak said, “I know that doctor. I’m asking for the treatment. Can he be treated?” Doctor said, “An operation can be done but...” “But what doctor?”, Palak asked instantly. Doctor said, “There’re are very less chances. If we fail, we may loose him!” Palak shocked. She looked at Karan slowly. He was playing with the stethoscope. He innocently asked Palak, “Shall we go?” Palak’s eyes started running. She said to the doctor, “Thank you for the cooperation doctor.” Doctor kept looking.
