Disclaimer: This is the work of fiction as far as all the characters, their names and the names of all the events are concerned and all these are imaginary and hence any resemblance to the persons (and their lives) dead or alive, and any places are coincidental. Even if a few events might look realistic/’real’, these are fictionalised and the associated names are changed in order to maintain their privacy, honour, and security. No intention whatsoever is meant to hurt any feelings of whosoever, irrespective of their personal/cultural beliefs, social or political inclinations, religion-orientations/practicing/philosophy, life styles, and work/business. The ‘I’, ‘my’, ‘me’, and ‘mine’ (if any used) do not necessarily mean the author of this book, and these and other such pronouns: her, hers, his, he, she, him, you, your, yours, ours, theirs…; are used for effective personification and dramatization, and the readers should not take these on their ‘own persons’. The readers should take these stories/verses/thoughts with/in good spirit. The presented ideas and material are based, where feasible, on readings and (thought-) analyses of scientific/other open literature (which seemed most profound and trustworthy), with as much care as possibly taken. The readers are requested to verify these notions on their own, and use their own discretion. However, these stories/verses/thoughts/ideas (mostly original) are expressed here with an intention of increasing awareness of the readers with a hope that in an overall sense, their (and ours) consciousness would be heightened (in all and multiple directions), so that we all can live our lives on this planet with true happiness, ever-lasting peace and real joy (irrespective of our orientations). The author and the publisher will not be responsible for any negative effects/situations arising as a result of reading these stories/verses and/or following the suggestions if any. No discussions/dispute of any kind will be entertained at any time and in any way, manner, and/or forum. JIRARA.

Spirituality

The word seems to have been an extension of the basic word ‘spirit’. The latter has several meanings:

i) there is surgical spirit (used in hospitals, clinics) which is a solution/liquid of (chemicals) ethanol, methanol (and more), and is used for disinfecting small cuts, for sterilising and hardening the skin (before giving an injection into skin or vein; Intravenous/IV);

ii) an animating or vital principle held to give life to physical organisms;

iii) supernatural being or essence, higher than normal humans (this might be a myth though);

iv) temper/mood of disposition of mind or person’s outlook;

v) an inclination, impulse, or tendency (of a specified kind); e.g. are you spirited to do this task?

vi) a lively or brisk quality in a person of her/his actions, this helps him to achieve some difficult tasks, compared to the one who has no such spirit at all, a de-spirited individual.

Spirituality involves the recognition of a feeling/sense/belief that there is something greater than an individual, something more to being human than sensory experience, and that the greater whole, of which we are a part, is cosmic or divine in nature (like unitary absolute being). In this sense the spirituality is a virtue of an individual who has achieved this state of feeling.

Some consider it as a particular way of thinking, feeling, or behaving, especially a way that is typical of a particular group/band of people, an activity, a time, or a place; invariably such a group would be very small; in most cases such groups are cults, who have not absorbed all the good tenets of a particular philosophy. Outwardly looking spiritual, they do not last long, and whiter away in the bad times.

Spirituality seems to be the mentality of the spirit!-the spirit that enlivens the human souls. It is all at a time, in the purest forms: i) the self (inner soul), and ii) the mind, the intellect, the wisdom.

And at the same time it is beyond all this, it is free from: i) mind’s hiccups, intellect’s ideologies, and ii) wisdom’s will-ness, wise-ness.

Spirituality seems to be the psychology of the spirit - the spirit that enlivens the human life.

It is all at a time, in the purest forms: i) the selfless self, the mindless mind, and ii) the thoughtless thoughts, the memory-less memory.

And yet it is free from: i) spirit’s authority, selfish wisdom, and ii) declared renunciation.

Spirituality is ‘being’ in everything and yet not being anything at all, it is renunciation beyond all renunciations, and it is eternity beyond all eternities.

The term spiritual person means a person trying to achieve spirituality, by practicing tenets of his/her religion, or the related philosophy.

The spirituality is the highest state of an individual on this Earth; a person who has reached this statehood is kind, benevolent, altruist, generous, self-less self, free from the worldly desires, and encompasses entire humanity and flora and fauna. If you believe in ‘god’, then this highest kind of spiritual person, who has attained the complete statehood of spirituality, is just sitting next to ‘god’, and if you do not believe in ‘god’ or ‘creator’, he is ‘godless god’.

A person might not have any degree, might be illiterate, poor, and yet could have reached the highest state of spirituality. This is by way of understanding the deeper nature of humans and life’s principles. He would have achieved this by his/her philosophical thinking. In ancient Indic literature, the word philosophy means ‘darshanshashtra’, which has a very deeper meaning. Darshan means vision, seeing, or having got darhsan. But, very deep, it means that the person has got vision of the very fundamental principle of life; s/he has understood the life so well, that he does not need to study any other literature, and has ‘seen’ himself everything by eyes of his wisdom, meaning s/he has got direct vision, visualization of the most fundamental aspect and essence of spirit of human existence; and this leads him to be a highly evolved spiritual person. If you consider that some ‘god’ has created this colossal cosmos and sophisticated life, then such a spiritual person has a direct vision of this ‘god’, meaning s/he is face to face with ‘god’. However, even if we don’t believe in ‘god’, we can say that such a person has attained the highest kind of spirituality, and has attained ‘godhood of love’. In this world such individuals are countably very few.
