Disclaimer: This is the work of fiction as far as all the characters, their names and the names of all the events are concerned and all these are imaginary and hence any resemblance to the persons (and their lives) dead or alive, and any places are coincidental. Even if a few events might look realistic/’real’, these are fictionalised and the associated names are changed in order to maintain their privacy, honour, and security. No intention whatsoever is meant to hurt any feelings of whosoever, irrespective of their personal/cultural beliefs, social or political inclinations, religion-orientations/practicing/philosophy, life styles, and work/business. The ‘I’, ‘my’, ‘me’, and ‘mine’ (if any used) do not necessarily mean the author of this book, and these and other such pronouns: her, hers, his, he, she, him, you, your, yours, ours, theirs…; are used for effective personification and dramatization, and the readers should not take these on their ‘own persons’. The readers should take these stories/verses/thoughts with/in good spirit. The presented ideas and material are based, where feasible, on readings and (thought-) analyses of scientific/other open literature (which seemed most profound and trustworthy), with as much care as possibly taken. The readers are requested to verify these notions on their own, and use their own discretion. However, these stories/verses/thoughts/ideas (mostly original) are expressed here with an intention of increasing awareness of the readers with a hope that in an overall sense, their (and ours) consciousness would be heightened (in all and multiple directions), so that we all can live our lives on this planet with true happiness, ever-lasting peace and real joy (irrespective of our orientations). The author and the publisher will not be responsible for any negative effects/situations arising as a result of reading these stories/verses and/or following the suggestions if any. No discussions/dispute of any kind will be entertained at any time and in any way, manner, and/or forum. JIRARA.

Our Minds

We all have some mind, I must say, if you do not mind please! In most cases, my mind’s desires are the same or similar to yours. Our minds and our thoughts keep us on our toes. We mind everything around us, whether we are invited or not for the discussions!

Whether we are wanted or not, respected or not, we want to know what they (some people) are doing together: a) I must know what he/she is doing alone or together, b) I am curious to know their affairs, c) I feel privileged to watch their interactions, d) I am (self-) law(-ed) to keep vigilance on their characters, and e) whatever may be the state of my own mind, and my character, I am still ready to engage my mind to give suggestions and advice to them! In this way the mind and the thoughts will be eternally with the humans at large!

As we have seen in my previous two stories on MB, the BMI is Body-Mind-Intellect. The mind in some sense is the ‘feeling’ or emotional part of the intellect. The intellect is the thinking and judgemental part (of our ‘self’). We often point to our physical heart to indicate some feelings/emotions/sentimentalism, and say ‘I love you from the bottom of my heart’; in fact here the ‘heart’ is a metaphor for the mind only. We point to heart, since in many cases our heart beats would increase if we become more emotional or sentimental; even our BP (blood pressure) might go up, or fluctuate. So, when we talk about the heart here, it is only another facet or aspect of the same mind of ours.

Ironically, though our mind is a part of our intellect (especially rational intellect), it has a very special characteristic: it is always vacillating, rarely calm and cool, always wandering from near to far, and vice versa, and most of the time disturbing us; and not allowing us to live in/with peace. That is a kind of untamed mind, and it might become a monster who is ready to devour us. In order to live a peaceful life, we need to control and regulate this mind, meaning that we have to control flow of our own thoughts. Mind is like a magnetic field of/around the thoughts; when (and where from) it attracts bad ideas/notions/thoughts/instructions, we do not really know; often we are caught unaware of its deadly endeavours/manipulations, and we get into a whirlpool of bad times, and our rhythm of life gets greatly perturbed and disturbed.

The same mind is often good, and it is the mind through which we can accomplish many difficult tasks in our lives; like a greatly/firmly determined mind, supported by our rational intellect and judgemental supervision. So, the mind is very useful, and we need to regulate its activities by using the security from our intellect and judgement. This aspect is a greatest challenge to the humankind.

A benign looking and innocent mind is also a deadly monster, and we all have to be very careful about the maneuvers, and ramblings of the mind, a constant vigil is required.

We are not any sensible people if we do not possess a good mind (that can be described as a rational collection of the thoughts), and our personality then remains incomplete. Incomplete BMI is a disaster of our life.

In my opinion, the mind is some subtle expression of the ‘self’, and the ‘self’ is the core of the human existence; the mind is a wave-energy (or energy-wave) emanating from the ‘self’ in its ‘excited state’.

***

Flowers are colourful, tender and soft,

Emanating good fragrance,

How I wish my mind were,

As soft and tender as silky petals of roses and lotuses.

Roses grow on thorny branches, the lotuses in muddy waters,

Beaconing braveness and humbleness,

How I wish I were so in the semblance to them in my mind and heart!
