Mind Reading and Communicating is one of the greatest achievements of 21st Century. However for some unknown reason this vital issue has been left out of media for more than ten years or so. We only know a few bits about it from the announcement of “Neuralink” by Elon Musk. He is claiming to create such unity among mankind that they will never need to speak out to express their feelings along with many wonderful promises. It will be a revolutionary advancement indeed. From my point of view some of us will be delighted and many of us won’t be. Do you know why? Some of us will be afraid that their secrets will come out to everyone. But believe me that’s not even the slightest scary part of it. What will actually happen? many will know you had fist fight at your school, you were dating multiple individuals at the same time or you had a huge crush on someone whom you still miss but don’t want your wife to know for the sake of peace of mind and to avoid conflict. These situations are reality for all ordinary individuals. But believe me when I say it, everybody knows, nobody cares.
Now let’s come to the real part. We are all huge fans of Hollywood or Bollywood movies, aren’t we? It really feels great to see a gorgeous Man or a Lady tapping into others phones or mails to find the crook within hours with his/her high devotion and honesty towards their nation. The actual problem that we overlook in movies is that heroes find the crook with their amazing intellect in no time, but he also suspects everyone as guilty during the entire process of tapping/hacking. Now let’s see what actually happens in reality. In reality we fight, use slangs while talking in our phone, we give threats; sometimes even the best of us use white lies only to comfort others.
So, think of the government tapping/hacking scenario in real life including all our regular conversations. How would those devoted patriots perceive about the general people of our society. I believe those people will think of every people as crooks and liars. Do you know why? It never feels good to hear people planning at back or using dirty slangs to each other. Now-a-days many corporations check our search histories, our email conversations and if you are one of the lucky ones to hit the jackpot, your calls are also traced for using corporate sim cards. This is what we have coped with as our reality in modern time.
When it comes to talking about the functions of the Brain I don’t know much, but the thing that I actually have little bit knowledge about is how people perceive. First of all if anybody thinks that Mind Reading and Communicating will offer extraordinary results, then you are up for the biggest disappointment. Do you actually think our brain receives every data as it is and memorizes everything? To clear the concepts try to memorize the last time you saw yourself in the mirror. What did you see? If you were looking at your face, then certainly you missed the details of your body. So our eyes are so focused on a certain object that it misses other details or it has a blur effect. Now think of the place where you live? If you live in a multistoried building, then it is quite certain that you won’t be able to grab the entire architectural view. You may ask why? The answer is like everything else we don’t give more than 5-6seconds for one glaze and you will definitely miss the top floor when you are looking at your gate. If I am not wrong everybody remembers only the entrance gate of their building and their home, because we are literally incapable of looking at any certain object for more than 5-6seconds, thanks to the gadgets or baggage of 21st Century. If we were that capable of memorizing then there would have been no need for books or drawing pictures or taking pictures. If our memory was so good, then there was no need for studying for hours to memorize any topic. Even after all the hard work, we put into memorizing we fail to memorize after a certain period. The things that we only remember are the shocks or memories of achievements or deep sorrows. As an Asian for me one of the most relating memories were someone slapping at the back of my head for fun during college days, bunking classes to meet with college friends for gossiping (Adda). At my collage days playing pool was a sign of class and for a college student bunking classes was a part of being rebel or in one words being grown up. Now when I think of such place I can only memorize the pool table and dim light focusing only the table or when I look back to my school days I remember playing cross and circles in a boring class or playing pen fight in recess. The best memory was hitting 3sixes at a row over principal’s office and finally losing the ball for good. There might be question in everyone’s mind how come you realize the principal’s office, the answer is I don’t. I only remember the roof of the office as my eyes were at the ball and the face of the dissatisfied bowler whose name I forgot as he was not of my class.
This is the main problem brain has a tendency to only remember those memories which you perceived had deep meaning to you. It might be meaningless to others. Now when it comes to mind reading and communicating one will only get to know a man’s certain memories of perceived reality.
The thing that really scares me the most is that phones are tapped of ordinary people for business tracking purpose, but not of the big shots. So what will happen when mind reading becomes the next reality? Will it actually be used serve the betterment of the world or will it be a escape route for big shots to gain more Intel to secure their business and bring about the era of new servitude.
