Chapter 2 - Wrong Righteous thing
I am not bad and I am not good either, I am just weird at least for me. Everyone says I am evil, I am bad, that why they are giving me punishment. You must be thinking that I smiled because I am happy that I am getting punished for my sins and crimes. No. like I said before you can’t regret for what you have done. I was smiling because finally I am getting face to face with death and got to see clear in the eyes of hell raiser.
It was the bright morning in the junky house in slum area. 8 year old girl was sleeping on the floor. Rug she was having around her body was torn from one side and her leg was coming out from it.
“Come on Anni wake up its already late” someone yelled from outside the house it was her mother.
She didn’t replied just changed her side.
Her mother came inside and kicked her in back so hard.
“I said wake up” Mother
Annie wakes up with her painful back, rubs her back and gives angry look at her mother.
“Take the sack and leave don’t come until you find lots of junk” she throws burlap sack on her face
“I didn’t have the breakfast” she was rubbing her eyes
“I will arrange it before you come, hurry up” Mother
Anni went outside and washes her face. Without cleansing water with cloth she left it to get dry by sun. Annie was walking from small Len. Once the area ends her comes before the big ground half of the ground was full of garbage and junk.
She walks towards the garbage and start looking for plastic and rubber all junk material that they can sell to junk dealer. She searches there for like 2 hours she looks at sun she realizes it must be around 12. Her stomach start to crawl she looks at the bag it was only half so she forgets about eating and start searching and suddenly she found something in the garbage she looks closely it was corner of TV she tries to pull out but it wasn’t possible by her little hands so she tries to clear garbage surrounded around it. It was old black and white small broken TV. She was happy for at last she found something that will give big money from junk dealer.
“Hey kid what are you looking at?” It was teen from her area named Tahir.
“Nothing it’s nothing” she tries to stop him. She doesn’t want him to take that TV.
He looks at TV “You really got the big thing, it will at least worth 100 Rs ,So get the hell out of here its mine now” Tahir Yells at her.
“No,” she tries to stop him from picking TV
“It’s mine, you can’t have it I found it so it’s mine” she grabs his hand
She was full of anger struggling to stop him. Tahir stops her and throws her on the back on the garbage. And picks her sack and looks inside and through it towards her.
“You already have enough junk, so get the hell out of here or I will beat you” Tahir
She takes sack in her hand. He was going to pick TV. suddenly she smashes sack on his head to stop him but what it get stuck she tries to pull out she struggles to pull back and bag gets torn and she realizes small iron rod that she found was all the way inside his head.
“aah....ah “ Tahir was yelling in pain
He hands were on rod. He checks his hand it was full of blood he tries to step towards Anni but collapses.
She was in shock afraid by seeing his blood. She was looking at him for so long. Suddenly she got her eyes on TV pushes it in other directional away from him hide it with garbage. After all that she still doesn’t want to lose that TV.
She was now running from lane very fast to reach house. She was running like hell she was all wet. And she suddenly smashes on someone.
‘”Hey in which hurry you are Annie, slow down” It was Tahir’s Uncle
She didn’t reply back and runs and reaches home.
“Hey you are on time food is getting ready” Mother
“Get a bath” Mother
She runs towards and hugs her. She was crying so hard. Her face was full of tears and her nose was running.
“What happened why you are crying?” Annie tells her everything.
Mother told her to calm down gives her water to drink.
She took her to the bathroom and gives her quick bath. Annie was still crying slowly.
“Stop crying it feels like someone is punishing me, like I said I will handle it” she takes rice in one plate. And put it before her.
“Listen, eat it, I will come back before you finish it”
Her mother lefts her and lock the house from outside.
Annie was all alone inside she looks at the plate she was so hungry so she cleans her eyes starts eating she was eating very fast, after eating 3 bites because of hot rice and her fast eating she starts to get hiccup, because of crying now her nose was wet.
She gets glass and drinks from the jar. She finishes the Rice washes plate keeps it in the Rack which was all broken. Her mother comes back in hurry.
Her mother and Annie were sitting before each other on the floor.
After few hours someone knocks on the door. Annie watches at her mother’s face. Her mother was looking at the door. Anni was expecting mother to tell her that “Everything will be fine”. But her mother was not looking at her.
They again knock largely on door. Her mother opens the door. It was Tahirs uncle and 2 police officers and 1 female officer. Before they talk her mother takes deep breath and says.
“You can take her. She told me she killed Tahir” Mother
It was all silent police and uncle was looking at Anni and her mother
Anni was in shock her mouth was open and her eyes were wide. She wasn’t expecting that.
Female lady comes inside and grabs her outside.
“No, I am not coming “Anni
“Please stop them” Anni was yelling at her mother she was struggling to remove her hand from the female lady. Her mother was not even looking at people.Anni grabs her hand.
“Stop them; I didn’t do it on purpose” Mother
“I don’t want to go...” Her mother removes her hand; officer takes her outside the house. Everyone around the house was looking at her she was crying and yelling to stop them
“I know it’s wrong but its righteous thing for you” Mother
“You said… I will handle it, you liar” Anni
Her mother closes door and turns back.
