Moonlight Fear - 2

The villagers' survival always been an extraordinary acts. How can people look down at the killing, burgling and abuses at the village? One has to have that much of experience and mental strength to overcome their negative mind influences. Whenever serious matters and issues approached them, they just stayed silent under the sky without knowing what could happen one day.

There was a small hut in the village. There lived two people - A single mother with her 13 years old only son, George. They hardly continued their life without anyone's support. The woman lost her husband ten years ago. She also thought that she and her son also should just be dead sooner to fade their poverty and loneliness as one. George also wished he could be the victim of moonlight incidents but time didn't admit it as if God really has great plan for him. George always was seemed to be an outstanding boy in the village. His thoughts, words and acts always had a strong logics and it always dropped everyone's jaws. Surprisingly, he was also an introvert.

Not like other people, George decided to collect details about the moonlight incidents. He approached his mother to pick her grey cells. George's mother actually got surprised at first and refused to open a conversation about that but George's adamant behavior succeed to convince his mother.

"George, I'm going to tell you everything I know... but will you be able to take it easy and being not worried about that?", George's mother questioned him.

"Of course I'll be able to, mom", George insisted.

"As some of us think that the killer is a God's messenger who is appointed to protect us, it is not actually true. Instead, he's evil. His live is to kill blooded living things to satisfy himself. No one knows this but me and dad know it...." she told him slowly. She wiped her sweats across her forehead and crossed her hands.

"Mom... Are you okay? You have to tell me the whole story, mom. Come on!" George sounded excited and also was worried.

"Well... the killer isn't actually a wild or strange creature but a human. I know. Ten years ago, it was second moonlight day of the year. The time was 2.00 am. Everyone stayed in their home safely. Suddenly, your dad woke me up and he seemed jittery. He told me that he had forgotten to lock our barn's door. I warned him not to step out of the house but he ignored me. When he went out, I started following him. He throttled. However, I who was groggy and sleep deprived just followed him slowly. Suddenly, your dad stopped and turned his head and looked at me shockingly. As I smelled something strange in his acts, I sped up to him and pulled him to the hut. I asked him to share his perplexity and feelings. After a long hesitation, he admitted that he saw someone was breaking the door of a hut in front of our hut and another guy was drawing something on the ground. At first, I thought what he was telling wasn't true but his dream or wild imagination. However, the next day I lost myself. We got to know that those who lived in the front hut went missing," she narrated.

"So, you're telling me that the killers are humans? Mom, come to the sense. He has lied to you. This is one of the thousands of myths about this village and the killer. I'm sure that the killer isn't a human," George insisted.

"Well.. I thought the same after I heard him but two days later your dad was found to be missing. The next morning, his body was found beside the cow barn. It was terrible. His body came to us without heart, brain, eyes and..." she burst into floods of tears. Tears burnt her eyes.

"I'm sorry, mom. You need a break," George said.

George stared with brooding eyes. He couldn't stop thinking about his village and the evil doings there. He wondered who's curse and malediction was that to his village and the villagers which ruined their lives.

George really wanted to bring those incidents to an end. All he can do was waiting until the next Moonlight day. He was rooting to know the truth. His mother may be correct, he thought. However, how can humans carry out those kind of illegal activities and violent crimes in the world which is connected with millions of laws and rules.
