Dear Zindagi....The Story of a Khushi

“The smile of my face, my ten year old daughter KHUSHI” after saying this Abdullah chacha took a deep breath “she was wrapped in a piece of cloth when I saved her from the jaws of a stray dog, that day she was not even for a day old, poor little creature got a second life” then he wiped the tears off his eyes.

"Today she is the shine of my house and I am proud to say, I have no two daughters Rather I have three daughters, Alhamdulillah" .....Razia and her husband were listening to his story very closely.

Razia was travelling to their village for vacations with her husband and children, the journey was a little long, but if someone found with the same village then the boring journey will pass easily”

A passenger named Abdullah was sitting next to them and Razia’s children being mischievous and bothering him again and again but instead of being mad he also was playing with them like a small kid.

After few moments, Razia and her husband asked him “ where are you going chacha?, When Uncle began to speak, they didn’t even realise how time passed, but all his stories were about KHUSHI.

Uncle continued his story how he saved the life of that poor soul," In those days I used to work in a bank and had to come every day in the same way, on that day just outside the hospital, I saw a stray dog running with a baby in its jaws which he picked from the dust bin, I chased the dog and threw a small stone at him, he left the baby and ran away.

I carried the baby to the hospital and told the doctors, please save the life of this baby, she will be my responsibility from today onwards, by God's grace only her face was injured, she still had life inside of her, the doctors warned me of an expensive bill for the cost of her life but I told myself “she is my daughter and doesn’t matter how much it costs me, I will save her life”

I brought her home, she was sleeping peacefully in my arms, my eyes were fixed at her lovely, little red cheeks, looking at her, I realise, what if I would have been late even for few minutes don’t know what would have been happened to her?

After reaching home I kept her in the laps of my wife, she looked at me with anger and lots of questions in her eyes but once she heard the whole story, she stroked her hair gently like a mother and said we will call her KHUSHI.

She is now 10 years old, very bright and intelligent, smarter than my other two daughters, may god keep her blessed " after Saying this he ended his story.

Next station was Aligarh, everyone packed their luggage and started waiting for the train to make a halt.

The train finally came to a stop, Abdullah chacha blessed Razia’s children and said goodbye to them, Razia and her family also booked an auto and went to their home.

People like Abdullah Chacha have maintaining humanity in our country, we and our country are proud of such people, unlucky are the real parents of Khushi who refused to accept their own blood and discarded her and left her to die.
