Mind is an enemy?

Mind is an enemy?

As Lord Krishna said in Bhagvad Gita – “Mind is both- our best friend and our worst enemy”.

Mind becomes the best friend of a person who is successful in controlling it. But for a person who has failed to do so, it becomes his greatest enemy. Means we have to control our mind by awaken intelligence. So we can say that mind is our best friend when the same mind is operating intelligently and our worst enemy when intelligence is sleeping.

In fact Mind is the only enemy, when it takes decision under influence of Lust, Anger, Greed, Attachment, Ego. that impelling people to commit sinful activities, and some time it also prevent us to do something batter, something innovative by showing us a fear of something. And sometime we feel like our mind is a prison.

The mind is a prison is a correct but not a complete statement. The mind is limited by the brain, but the mind is not only brain. Something lies beyond the brain too, and that is intelligence and that is not a prison.

The mind is surely a prison when intelligence is not in operation. When one is not attentive, then the mind surely becomes a prison; a prison of the past and your surrounding environment a prison in which others have enslaved you. But the mind is not a prison when we are acting intelligently.

Intelligence operates only in an environment of attention. And there is some parameter that effect on our attention like Love, Care, desire, surrounding environment, our interest and more. Because of this we cannot give attention and our intelligence is not working and then our mind is our enemy. And that is prison and very difficult to break.

Whether there is something in the mind which imprisons us. We must have to find out unfortunately it might be true for us.

There are some factor that effect and domain on our mind and that is our ‘Slavery of past’ and ‘others Dominance’ so prison for our mind is slavery for past and others.

Slavery of the past is, ‘My past experience is not good, and how can I go beyond my past? ‘My past background is good and if something wrong then what happened, no I cannot go beyond my background’. ‘Since childhood, I have been conditioned to do only this, so I will keep doing this only ’. This list is very long but this is all slavery of the past.

Similarly Slavery of the others is, ‘I am not (can’t) use intelligence’. ‘I am not (can’t) use my free mind or’. ‘I am allowing others to set terms and conditions of my life’. ‘Others are taking decisions related to my life even though I am and capable to do for myself’. ‘I can influence by other very easily’. ‘Frequently I feel confused’. ‘In all matters, I always need consultation of other’. ‘I fill happy when somebody else decides for me or take decision from my side’. ‘I follow the crowd because I don’t set my vision’. ‘In my family all are doing this that’s why I also do this’ This is all slavery of others.

We have to blow away prison by our intelligence, with the help of intelligence we can break all the prison. We all are intelligent, in some of us at some moment intelligence is awakened. In some of us intelligence is active while in others it is sleeping. It is always with us but it is sleeping. And it is sleeping because of discussed factor like Love, environment.

So Love is not there, likely environment is not there, interest is absent then intelligence is remain in sleeping mode and we are remaining in prison.

So look surrounding clearly, wisely give attention and free your mind from prison in this way we also make our worst enemy to our best friend. We have to just pay attention.

Means with attention we can meet our best friend that always with us and within us. And when our mind is free then we also fill comfort and free. Just awake, see and listen then no one can make us and our mind prisoner.

“Moment you awake you are free”
