SUDIP Scares Me
Sudip likes to watch TV at midnight when everyone is sleeping in the house. He prefers to watch only horror movies. Any new horror movie releases, he is the one in his family and friends’ circle who never missed watching it first-day first show. Many times this habit of Sudip becomes the topic of discussion to pull Sudip’s leg, but he never bothers.
Sudip’s parents are worried about his this habit. Kids at an early age are usually easy to manage with cartoon or movies but this was not the case with Sudip. From the age of 4, he started watching scary movies. He ate silently, slept easily and did his homework no tantrums, if his mother allowed him to watch scary movies. This habit of watching horror movies still there at the age of 19.
In the beginning, his parents did not take this habit seriously which they should have. When they realised, it was too late. Sudip was addicted to scary movies by then. He could not sleep if he would not watch scary movies till late night. As a result, he couldn’t get up early in the morning for his university and so his attendance notice started coming to home with harsh words from the principle. Friends tried to convince him getting off this habit but without watching such movies he couldn’t sleep. His parents involved doctors but that was not a disease that can be cured, rather it was a special condition. Doctors could only prescribe sleeping pills but gulping down pills every day could cause side effects for the body and that could lead to another issue altogether.
Now, this habit has becoming more injurious because now Sudip has scary dreams as well and this dreams make him wake up in the middle of the night. Nevertheless, Sudip doesn’t have adequate sleep even now, after all the efforts of family, friends and doctors. Scarcity of sleeping is sickening him. Sudip also understands that his condition cannot be cured by anyone.
Once, Sudip entered a high-rise building to join a barbecue party for which he was invited by his Facebook friend Ria. Sudip and Ria met on Facebook and their relationship evolved from friendship to something better. Sudip knows that Ria lives in the penthouse. Sudip usually won’t go anywhere for late night parties because of his habit of watching scary movies. But Sudip has the soft corner for Ria as they both were in touch on Facebook and over the phone for a long time, and they have also shared many personal moments of life with each other.
Firstly, Sudip stepped in the lift and found the top-floor button to press and to reach Ria’s house. He pressed the 37th button which was the last floor in that building. The Lift started but suddenly took high-speed. Sudip had to hold handrail fasten to make himself stable and comfortable. The lift stopped suddenly, Sudip thought this would be 37th floor because of lift’s speed. But lift actually stopped between 6th and 7th floor because of power cut-off. He tried to get help by pushing help button and calling on the emergency number which every lift has. But it didn’t work. Finally, he managed to open lift door anyhow, and then he landed to 6th floor from half opened lift gate.
Sudip first called Ria but her phone was out of coverage area. Then he started using stairs with the backlight of his phone which is going to switch off anytime because of low battery. He tried to pass each floor as fast as possible before phone’s battery drained off. Simultaneously he was thinking about the relation between the speed of the lift and 6th floor. With the help of mobile’s torchlight, he rapidly reached the 20th floor. his phone finally died and so backlight. Now he was feeling a bit scary as there were no lights in the whole building.
He kept walking upstairs slowly and suddenly he found 2 ways of stairs which lead to different buildings. He again felt awkward, but he chooses anyone without much thinking and starts climbing stairs. After climbing 3-4 floors he started observing that number of people climbing stairs and watching only upwards. They were not talking with each other at all. Sudip tried to ask them about, “why are they all going upstairs?” But nobody was even looking at him rather they continued to walk upstairs. Sudip found their behaviour very weird. He also tried to ask about Ria but not getting any answer from them.
Sudip tired and seat on the staircase. He saw a number of people were adding in that mob and going upwards. He knocked on the door of some apartments to get some help and also a glass of water but whoever opened door also joined the crowd and started following them. Sudip got confused and got scary more. He entered in one of the apartment and got power bank luckily to charge his phone. He called friends and family. All friends were busy with Ria’s party, and they were not able to talk because of loud music. Then he called his father. His father told that he was at the police station. Sudip asked the reason and his father replied that the police took him from home, and they told me that your son has killed more than 352 people and still killing many more. Sudip asks surprisingly, “What are you talking about papa, I have not killed anyone?” His father told him that, “I know beta but police are saying that you have pushed all these people from the terrace.” His father also told him that, “police and his team is coming to Ria’s apartment to arrest you.”
Sudip was not able to understand that scene at all. After sometime Sudip heard the siren of police-vans and sound of footsteps of policemen who all were coming upstairs. Sudip saw policemen with torchlight and guns in hand. Sudip started crying and shivering. It was not possible to go downstairs to escape, so he ran towards the top floor. He fell down on the stair many times because of darkness, but he managed to reach the terrace anyhow by crossing all these people going upwards.
Finally, he reached the terrace and the thing he watched was unbelievable. Someone was throwing all these people one by one from terrace to ground. Because of the darkness of midnight, he was not able to see his face from the distance so Sudip quickly left to him to stop killing these people.
Sudip got shocked after seeing that person’s face because he found himself who was killing everybody.
Before policemen came up he has killed all the people who were living in that building. Soon 100s of policemen reached on the terrace with guns and 3 to 4 helicopters were in the air. Before Sudip explained anything, everybody has started shooting at him and killed Sudip in a while.
…..and Sudip wakes up with this horrible dream.
Tomorrow Sudip will again wake up with such Dream, and he will again scare me by sharing his new dream.
Till then let Sudip sleeps.
