The female member of the B-2 house reply “no, no, not at all.” The B-4 member asked “then why you put it there??”, the B-2 female member reply with the feeling of caught red-handed” I put it there because there is not enough room in my house.” The B-1 female member loses her temper after hearing that excuse. She shouted with anger and rage “what! Not enough room? Are you out of your mind? What kind of answer is that? Do you know we all suffer from the bedbug problem for last two months? What kind of behaviour is that??” She shouted so loud all the other members of that floor were came out to see what was happening. But this type of quarrel was routine for the unit of B-2, so it did not affect her at all. They have started to enjoy it because everyone was paying attention, and they were the significant part of that situation. They have acted proudly as they have just won the Oscar.
The female member of B-2-unit reply” why are you shouting like that? You are not the only one who pay maintenance. We pay too. And we have all the right to use this lobby as we please just like others do.” With this said the unit B-3 male member comes out and says” what are you saying, madam. We all use this lobby for the common purpose only. And there is not written any ware that we put our house furniture out in the lobby like that.” Before he starts any other sentence, all the other member of that floor speaks together “yes, yes this man is right we never use our lobby like that.” The female member of the B-2 flat interrupts and says “it is also not written anywhere not to put any stuff in the lobby.” She now turns her focus towards unit B-3 and says” look who's talking, don’t forget you live here on rent, you have no rights to speak in this matter. First, buy your own house then speak.” After hearing that unit B-3 male member goes angry and says” what! What did you say? Who are you to talk to me like that?” he rushes towards that lady but before anything went wrong his wife stop him and try to calm him down.
But after all that argument the original situation does not improve. The owner of that bed was denied to take that bed inside the house. So, the dispute between the flat holders was now heating up. Suddenly unit B-5 female member jump in and said “if that B-3-unit member is living on rent so what, at least they took permission to do that, not like you.”
“who said that??” screamed the ratchet man from inside of the flat “we have every right to come here and live, “The B-5-unit male member said with rage “not in the expanse of the family,” what! Who said that?” reply that ratchet man. Suddenly all the second-floor members surrounded the unit number B-2. The old mother of ratchet man said “why don’t you stop hiding things, one day they all find out what happened. Say the truth” the ratchet man said “mother you stay out of it” the female member of the B-2 unit agreed. And so, the dispute went further and became the question of honour.
The B-4 male member said, “listen if you do not move that bed then we are going to call the police.” That ratchet man said, “do what you please, I am not afraid of any things.” All the flats members were agreeing for calling the police. The B-1 male member said “ok then you ask for it. In the 23 years of this apartment history, this is the first time we are going to call help from police thanks to you.”, Unit B-4 male member calls the police station, but as usual without any significant problem police also refuse to come. Police reply that it is a domestic problem and the apartment members must have solved it them self.
But it has become the question of honour and authority of who was the boss at that time. So, this type of answer by the policeman was not enough. The B-4 male member contacted one of the higher authority of the police department and asked his help. As the unit B-4 male member is working in recognize the company with the excellent post, the authorized member of police department did not refuse but send few constables to sort out the problem.
The police constables arrived after few hours. Meanwhile, the argument continues between the apartment members. One of the constables says” ok, ok stop who calls for the help” the B-4 male member said, “it is me, I am the person who calls for the help on behalf of the other apartment members.” The constable asked “what is the problem?” the B-3-member reply “this bed is the problem.” the constable looked at the bed and said, “who is the owner of, this bed.” The unit B-2 members shut their door and hide. The ten-year-old child said, “it is that aunts bed uncle who lives in that B-2 flat.” The father of the boy said “yes officer it is true, the bed belongs to the person who is living in that flat,” The constable knocked the door, but the door is not open. Constable said “is no use, open the door please” the B-2 female member opens the door. One of the constables recognizes the woman as soon as she opens the door. The fellow constable said “I know you, you are, but how? Where is your brother in law?” she replies “he is not here. He is not residing with us anymore.” The B-1 female member said” then who is that fellow living in your house?” the female member of B-2 said “that is none of your business” the unit B-1 female member complained to the constable and said “you see sir that type of behaviour we all have to tolerate almost every day. Please do something about it.”
“don’t worry madam. We understand. You are not the only victim of them. We heard many of time before. The situation is under control now.” Said by one of the constables. The other constable asked her strictly “how long it takes you to take that bed inside your house.” “right away sir no problem,” said the female member, of B-2 flat. But to move that bed alone was not possible for that woman, so she asks for some help from one of the constable. Constable agreed and helped her. As soon as constable entered her house, he watched a close door. Constable put the bed down, but few bedbugs were also entered inside his cloth and on his arms. The constable screamed immediately “what is that biting me? A bedbug no wonder these people are so mad at you. If we have the power, we might.” Before he completes the sentence that ratchet man came out of that door and tried to run away through the open door. But the two constables and other flat members are standing his way, so the attempt fails., “oh, so there you are.” Said by one of the constable grabbing him by the collar.
“no sir, not me, please let me go, I am innocent, it is her flat sir, not mine. Take her away.” Said by that ratchet man.” yes, yes come quietly with us and say sorry for your behaviour to all the other flat members” said by one of the constables. “yes, I am so sorry. Please, someone, help me.” Said by that ratchet man. B-3 members said “not after what you did to us. Take him away sir far away as possible.”
One of the constables said to his fellow constable “call the chief tell him we got him.” “yes of course.” Within a couple of minute chief officer comes with arrest van but before the police take him away, the Unit B-4 male member asks one of the constables “I called you to move that bed. What is happening? Who is that man? What else he did in the past?” the constable reply “this man here is one of the gang members of the con company sir. This flat that he lives in is not his flat at all. It is a flat of a very needy and one of the victims of his. He forces fully occupy this flat from them.” “I know that family, but con company? Victim? Can you please elaborate the story?” “Sorry, sir we have to follow, the orders. But don’t forget to read tomorrows newspaper you may find the entire story.”
The chief officer said to B-4 male member” you helped us a lot sir. Thank you very much.” And the police took that ratchet man away living that old woman and her family alone again. All the apartment members were puzzled again. They gathered around and asked B-4-unit member “what does the police say?” The flat number B-4-member reply” they say he is working for some con company. And the constable says to not to forget to read the newspaper tomorrow.”
The B-3-unit male member says “why wait? Why don’t we ask her about that?” “ok let us ask” said by the flat B-4 male member. They went straight to the B-2 flat the flat number B-4 male member starts the yet another conversation with the female member of that flat he said” no more games tell us what happened to that boy and his family? What you and your brother in law do to them? And how you afford this flat? “the B-2 female member was scared and ready to give an answer she said the entire story. She said” it is true that my brother in law is working for the con company. My late husband does not know about it. He gives money for on interest after the party agreed on to put his house or jewellery in case if they become a defaulter. That boy wants to open the new business. My brother in law gives him remaining money to open his own business. He puts his house on the line if he does not return money in time.” The B-1-member reply “but that’s illegal. If you are not able to pay back in time then in some cases they may even kill you.” Said by the B-2 female member. “that boy agreed to pay the money back, well before that festival night. We are safe.” Said by the male member of unit B-4.” Yes, but how many numbers of men are involved here. What if they were looking for us now?
