FASTFOOD MANIA
In present time, we are considering the things which we get quickly whether it is food, online shopping or any online activity (banking, mobile, DTH payments and much more) that saves our time. In this constant process of making things faster, at some point we have become lazy and always try to find shortcut for nearly everything we do in routine life. Fast food term is not limited to food with low preparation time but also the one’s which is pre-cooked or packed food.
We live in such an era where everything is offered at our doorsteps within minutes. The obsession for fast food has reached its heights with increasing demand were people think cooking at home hinders other work and is a waste of time. Fast food home delivery services are available all across the globe, offering variety of options like free home delivery, order of minimum amount and you get various discounts, just to appeal us.
If any person is hungry the first thought comes in mind is eating fast foods because they can easily grab it and feel free from hunger without any waste of time. Apart from this, variety of options is available to select your type of food. If you go for pizza or burgers you have option to customize your ingredients.
Usually, in past people used to carry homemade food while travelling. But with increasing options available for different cuisines served to you anywhere has decreased the concerns of food while we travel either for official or a fun trip.
With plenty of benefits offered there are demerits of consuming fast food frequently. They come with excess fat, carbohydrates, and processed sugar which only adds to an increased risk of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, weight gain, and many other chronic health conditions. Also consumers tend to eat too much at one sitting and consumers who have satisfied their appetite with such food are less likely to eat healthy foods like fruit, vegetables or dairy products.
On the other side, homemade food is fresh. The quality is superior to that of packed foods and contains high nutritional and vitamin value. Just give a thought; you go out to have pav-bhajji on food counter. You must have observed the bhajji that is constantly been heated every time an order is received. All nutritional contents are lost due to heating it again and again. Food cooked at home is often economical if cost is calculated on daily basis. Apart from this, homemade food has its own history of flavours and recipes which help in making family bond stronger.
There is no doubt, fast food are budget-friendly, easily available and abundant of options on your plate but at the cost of your health if you are making daily consumption. While most of the restaurants offer low quality and fattening food there are few who choose
healthy food business model for their customers. They offer customers if they want their meals customized like which to eliminate or substitute from their salads or sandwiches like mayonnaise or cheese and replace it with a low fat dressing.
Fast food should be treated as an alternative not our daily routine as it seriously damages our health with age and time. Whereas homemade food keeps us energetic, healthy and strengthens family bonds and it can never be replaced by any food; especially the food cooked by moms just like icing on cake… love it. Stay healthy and be happy.
