The proportion of educated unemployed is ever increasing at an alarming rate in india. Advancement in information technology and ever increasing population has contributed to such a pathetic situation. As such, there is no check in population growth. India is poised to cross Chinese population by 2025. A computer can do the job of hundreds of people in no time. Hence, information technology obviously obviate the necessity of employing people.

As employment is not being generated to desired level, the gap between the supply and demand for labor has shot up sky high. Hence, many people are being forced to go without a job. When there is no job in the market, naturally, self employment and working as a free lancer is the only constructive alternatives available to people as staring a business is not an easy joke which entails large investment of capital in addition to land or rent, labor and organization.

Unemployment and crimes have linear relationship and are directly proportional.

Educated people have to maintain their own minimum standards of living whether they are earning or not.

They need to maintain their prestige and dignity. They cannot go for jobs at random. They cannot sell tea, vegetables , Chole bhature or else work as an unskilled labor.

Foreign countries provide dole for educated unemployed. In India there is no such system.

Even after sixty eight years of independence, reservation for backward communities goes on forever. Even if the jobs are reserved for backward communities, they cannot deliver any results. They are only sinecures getting fair share of the cake without delivering any desired results. Because of reservation , deserving candidates are being relegated to the oblivion.

Caste based reservations should be abolished rather reservation should be based on ews irrespective of backward or forward communities to which the people belong .Caste based reservations will come to an end only when we refrain from caste based voting.

MBO introduced by eminent management professional Peter Drucker goes a long way in increasing productivity. Jobs should be given only to those who really work and delver performance.

So many management techniques like Likert ‘s Systems Management, Maslow’s need hierarchy theory, Six sigma approach, Theories X and Y , Managerial grid to mention a few go a long way in managing organizations to accomplish desired objectives.

Alarming proportion of unemployment has far reaching repercussions. Unemployment among educated leads to frustration, depression, psychological disorders and widespread restlessness.

Joblessness is still more shocking than unemployment which is only temporary.

Seasonal workers get jobs only on season. Hence, they have to be flexible enough to make makeshift arrangements according to season or else resort to other stopgap arrangements to keep their wheel of life running and to make provision for unforeseen contingencies.

Disguised unemployment is also conspicuous by it’s presence. Not much headway has been attained in solving the problem of unemployment.

As there is lack of employment opportunities in India, people try to migrate to other countries which provide job opportunities.

As per the latest records, 271000 people remain unemployed in US. In India the number of educated unemployed is countless.

In the backdrop of acute shortage of employment, people are forced to work below the subsistence level of wages. They struggle a lot even to have a hand to mouth existence or eke out a bare living.

To cite an example, in a cine theatre in a city , a ticket checker get only Rs. 5/- per show. He stays around 4 Km radius. If he goes by bus, he does not have to go for the job. That is the kind of shortage of employment, people are facing.

In the absence of opportunities many people resort to self employment and work as free lancers.

Even going for a job with so much of strings attached does not make any sense.

We have to struggle a lot even for eke out a living. Many people are forced to take extreme steps like suicide due to the trauma of uncertainty of earning two slices of bread which is the costliest thing in this world as civilization never sprouts on sunken belly.

Expenses of households have gone up in the wake of ever increasing inflation as also because of breakage of joint family systems. Expenses do not halt even if income halts.

So much of fragments of landholdings have resulted in uneconomical agricultural production.

Heritage industries are also vanishing because of continuous innovations in technology and replacement of nuclear family systems in place of joint family systems.

Our agricultural system still largely hinges on rains which is not certain.
