Perfect Smile
The moment Naina entered the room, she cursed herself for not wearing perfume. Oh my God! He will come quite close to me and I will make an awful impression on him, she thought, but now Naina was already in Chetan’s room.
He looked at her and smiled. She smiled back. Chetan asked her to sit and Naina obeyed like a hopeless teenager in love. After few minutes he came close to her. Naina got nervous while Chetan leaned and asked her to open her mouth. Naina obliged, she thought he will be touching her lips, she closed her eyes in anticipation but Chetan’s trained fingers straight went into the place where it meant to be. After all, he was a thorough professional. Naina was disappointed. She wanted to be touched on her lips by chetan’s nimble fingers.
OMG! This guy, can’t he see I am in love with him, he could have touched my lips or my cheeks, and why on earth he is wearing his gloves, I can't even get the feel of his soft skin" t Naina blushed while thinking all these, but Chetan was immune to all her feelings. He narrowed his eyes and concentrated on her upper jawline.
"Relax, otherwise I won't be able to see" Chetan's sudden words to Naina was like a music in her ears. His mouth was covered with that white piece of cloth adding a contrast to his black glowing eyes. Naina was thinking to kiss those eyes someday.
“Hmm! you are making a good improvement, just 4 months and your teeth will be perfectly aligned” said Chetan after observing and checking all the corners of her mouth and braces for 15 whole minutes.
“Really, and then I will have a perfect smile” Naina replied softly
“ For a beautiful smile you don’t need perfectly align teeth, you need a smile which meets the eyes." Chetan paused for a while and then added "Naina, you already have a perfect smile.” He emphasises on his last sentence, as if he means every word he said.
Uff! how easily Chetan can make anyone feel better, even a 16 year old girl with braces and pimples can feel like a princess in his company. He knows how to compliment a girl. His wife must be lucky. Oh! is he married? Why on earth men do not wear anything like sindur or chura to let the world know whether they are married or not. In a single moment Naina’s mind was flooded with all these notions.
“Here it is. 4 months and everything will be alright” Chetan handed her the file after writing the report and his voice bought back Naina to the real world from the world of her own.
“Are you alright?” asked Chetan
“huh” Naina replied
“Don’t worry! let’s hope for the best” Chetan patted her back and smiled.
Oh! His dimples, he has got a perfect jawline, sharp nose, broad temple and then these dimples. God has created him exclusively for winning hearts. Naina thought about her own appearance, her slim body, long oval face, brown eyes, mismatched teeth and long hair. It was not a match for Chetan’s tall, broad figure and sharp features. Moreover, she was 16 and he was perhaps in his early 30s.
She left the room slowly, elongating her moments of pleasure and Chetan looked at her long hair. Moment Naina left the room, Natasha, Dr. Chetan’s assistant entered the room.
“May I ask you something Doctor” said Natasha
“Is anything serious” Chetan was in good mood.
“Nothing serious, it just that usually you take only 1 year to align teeth like this girl have, it’s already been 2 years and you have again given her an appointment for the next month” she asked in a puzzled tone. Natasha was working with Dr. Chetan, one of the known dentists of the city for last 4 years. She knew a lot about his treatment procedures.
Chetan paused for a while as if cought red handed and then replied “She is a special case!”
Natasha was still puzzled while Chetan was happy, thinking he will be able to see Naina again.
