Preface
Everybody has got a hidden talent from childhood. But as we grow old, we fail to realize and cherish what used to mesmerize us in our crazy days. I started writing poetry from 4th standard. My first poem was "I love India". A very simple poem, "l like India, I love India, l will live in India, l will learn in India...."
I don’t know how these words came to my mind and how I started writing poems. Some silly rhyme used to come to my mind at the odd hour of the night and I used to get up, take a piece of paper and pen it down in darkness. I couldn’t switch on the lights because my mom would get up and start wondering. I wonder today, how my teachers and friends used to read, edit, admire and may be later on mock at some of my craziest poems. From school to college, from a student to a Doctor, my imaginations, expressions and experiences have been varied. My poems are not a fabulous piece of literature; they are just a way of speaking out my heart.
Every one of us has few dreams but few of us really make them true. I always thought I would publish when I would grow 40, be successful, and be at the helm of my career. But I get inspired with the famous words of Katrina Kaif in the movie Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, "How do you know you gonna live till 40? Seize the day my friend. Pehle is din ko poori tarah jiyo, fir chaalis ke bare mein sochna!" And as Arjun Kapoor (Chetan Bhagat impersonifed) in the movie 2 States, starts writing when lonely and desperate, I banged upon such an opportunity.
I had just finished my DNB Urology and was waiting for my results, before I could start my practice. I was gett'ng bored, frustrated and lonely, till one day, I realized that this was a blessing in disguise. Why don’t I do it today what I have been dreaming of all my life? Why wait till the hair gets grey? Anyways, Rome was not built in a day!
And this is how, a collection of more than 350 poems in all these years, got refined, tarnished and presented before you in the form of a small dream come true. I am extremely happy that I am able to publish them in all three languages: English, Hindi and Gujarati, together. It has been a long journey, has seen many tides and ebbs, and has sailed through many odd winds. But it is always a pleasure when you reach the shore.
I humbly apologize for any shortcomings, if any. I thank all those, especially Mrs. Nilkamal Mehta, Mrs. Shweta Doshi and Mr. Saurabh Jain, who have been guiding and inspiring souls in this awesome journey. I hope, at some page of the book, you will definitely feel as if my words are simply straight from your heart!

TOLERANT INDIA
Day in and day out,
I hear of things like black out.
Gloom, doom & boom all around,
Where is the glory, the spirits we feel proud about?
Incredible turns into intolerance,
Humanity seems to have no significance.Insensitivity, insensibility and impatience,
Why this fuss and the ignorance?
We get a meal every day,
We can speak anything anytime in any way.
We have a roof on our top,
Yet we feel we are the most sufferer of the lot;
We play, we pray, we follow our way,
We breathe an air of freedom.
We elect, we select, we decide our future,
But destiny, my dear friends...That's not our Kingdom!
If it has to change,
It has to be from us,
It has to start within;
Comments, likes and complimentsAre just not enough,
Sharing, caring and daringHas to be from this min!!!
