આ વાર્તા તમે મારી અગાઉની 'બીજી સ્ત્રી' વાંચી હશે તો આ પણ ગમશે.એક શાપિત વૃક્ષમાં એક રાક્ષસનો વાસ હતો.બન્યું એમ કે મુંગો નાનો હતો ત્યારે તે સાધારણ માનવ જ હતો તે પોતાના કાકાની દીકરી ને ખૂબ વ્હાલો હતો. તેથી, મૂંગો તેને અનહદ પ્રેમ કરવા લાગ્યો. પરંતુ તે બહેન આનાથી પાંચ વર્ષ મોટા હતા અને હિન્દૂ રીતિરિવાજ પ્રમાણે સગામાં લગ્ન થઈ શકે નહીં. તેથી મૂંગો તેની બહેનના લગ્નને જોતો રહી ગયો, અને તે રાતે ચોરીછુપે મેલીવિદ્યા શીખવા ચીકુવાડી જતો રહેતો. ત્યાં ઘટાદાર વૃક્ષ નીચે બેસીને ભષ્માશૂરની આરાધના કર્યા કરતો, જેથી દાનવો પ્રસન્ન થઈને તેને શક્તિનું વરદાન આપે. એક દિવસ ભષ્માશૂર પ્રકટ
