માનવીને હંમેશથી અખૂટ સંપત્તિ મેળવવાની ઝંખના રહી છે અને સોનાની તો લોકોને એટલી ઘેલછા છે કે તે સોનુ મેળવવા માટે કંઇ પણ કરવા માટે તૈયાર હોય છે. આ માટે માનવીએ સમુદ્રની અતલ ઉંડાઇઓથી માંડીને મિસરના પિરામીડો સુધી શોધ કરી છે. ઘણી વ્યક્તિઓને કશુ નથી મળ્યું તો ઘણાં કરોડોનો સામાન લઇને આવ્યા છે. લોકોને આજે પણ વિશ્વાસ છે કે વિશ્વના કોઇ એક સ્થળે સોનુ જ સોનુ પથરાયેલુ પડ્યું છે. સોનાની શોધમાં સમગ્ર ધરતીનું ચક્કર લગાવી રહેલ સ્પેનિશોએ આ જગાને અલડોરાડો એવું નામ આપ્યું હતું. આમ તો આ બાબાતની શરૂઆત એક એવા દક્ષિણ અમેરિકન રાજ્યના કબીલાના નેતાથી થઇ જેણે પોતાના સમગ્ર શરીર
