શિખા ને ઉનાળાનું વેકેશન પડ્યું હતું, તે હવે ચોથા ધોરણમાં આવવાની હતી. તે આ વખતે વેકેશનમાં પોતાના મામાના ઘરે નહોતી ગઈ કારણ કે તેની ફઈ તેના ઉનાળુ વેકેશન કરવા આવવાના હતી, શિખાને પોતાની ફઈ આવતા તે બહુ ગમતું આથી આ વખતે પણ શિખા ફઇની આતુરતા પૂર્વક રાહ જોવા લાગી.થોડા દિવસોમાં ફઈ આવી ગયા. થોડાક દિવસો ફઈના છોકરાઓ સાથે ધમાલ મસ્તીમાં ખુબ સરસ વિત્યા, શિખા અને તેનો ભાઈ અને ફઈ છોકરાઓ ભેગા મળીને પેપ્સી પિતા, બરફનો ગોળો ખાતા,રોજ રાત્રે આઈસક્રીમ ખાતા, અને હા કેરી અને શેરડીનો રસ તો ખરો જ આ રીતે દિવસો રાજીખશી પસાર થતાં હતા.એક દિવસ શીખા ના દાદીએ
