दीपावली यानी दीपों का त्यौहार। घरों में साफ-सफाई और रंगाई- पोताई के बाद चमकते घर आंगन, तोरण और बंदनवार से सजे द्वार, विविध रंगों से बनाई जाती रंगोलियां,धन की देवी लक्ष्मी जी के स्वागत और उनकी अगवानी को तैयार हैं।बाजारों में भीड़भाड़ और चहल-पहल है। दुकानें सजी हैं और बिजली के रंगीन बल्ब,झालरों की लड़ी,आकाशदीप और मिट्टी के दीए तथा अन्य वस्तुओं से बाजार में चकाचौंध है। पटाखे की दुकानों में भीड़ है। मिठाई खाने-पीने की चीजें और कई तरह के फल बिक रहे हैं। घरों में स्वादिष्ट पकवान बन रहे हैं।ऐसे हंसी - खुशी, उल्लास और उमंग के वातावरण
