ઘરે મહેમાન આવે એટલે ' બા ' કબાટ માંથી સારાં માયલું ગાદલું કાઢે અને તેના ઉપર નવીનક્કોર ચાદર પાથરે. બા આવી તરખડ કેમ કરે છે ! અમે આવું પૂછીએ એટલે મારી અભણ બા કહેતી કે આંગણે મહેમાન ક્યાંથી ! અતિથિ તો ભણેલો ગણેલો શબ્દ હતો. પણ, અમારા પંથકમાં મહેમાન માટે પરોણા કે મે'માન શબ્દનો મોટાભાગે ઉપયોગ થતો. મોટાભાગે ગામડું નાનું હોય એટલે એકબીજાના મહેમાન ને ગામ ઓળખતું હોય એટલે ગામ ઝાંપેથી જ ગામમાં સામા મળતા લોકો દ્વારા રામ- રામ કરીને આવકારવા નું શરૂ થઈ જાય. કોઈ ન ઓળખતું હોય તો રામ - રામ કરીને મહેમાનની ઓળખ પણ પૂછે. બધું સાવ
