હોમી પારસી એના અસ્તબલનાં ઘોડા માટે ખૂબ જાણીતો હતો. કાઠિયાવાડી, સિંધી, મારવાડી, મણિપુરી પોની, દેક્કાની એવા અનેક નસલના ઘોડાઓ એના અસ્તબલમાં જોવા મળતા. એક દિવસ એનો મિત્ર વખારિયા તેની દીકરી રોક્ષાના સાથે હોમીના ઘરે આવે છે. બંને મિત્રો ઘણા વરસો પછી મળ્યા હોય છે. એટલે ખુબજ ખુશ હોય છે. રોક્ષાનાની ખૂબ સુરતી જોઈ સૌ કોઈ એના દીવાના બની જાય એવી હતી. સૌ કોઈને પહેલી નજરમાં ગમી જાય એવી સુંદરતા કુદરતે તેને આપી હતી. હોમીનો દીકરો રૂસ્તમ પણ એને પહેલી નજરે જ પસંદ કરી લે છે. રોક્ષાના અને રૂસ્તમ બાળપણમાં ખૂબ સારા મિત્રો હોય છે. આજે આટલા વરસો પછી મળે છે
