કવિશ્રી નરસિંહ મહેતાએ ઘડપણનો પૂરેપૂરું ચિતાર એમની કવિતા" ઘડપણ" માં આપ્યો છે. ઘડપણ કોણે મોકલ્યું, જાણ્યું જોબન રહે સૌ કાળ. ઉંબરા તો ડુંગરા થયા રે, પાદર થયા રે પરદેશ. ગોળી તો ગંગા થઈ રે,અંગે ઊજળા થયા છે કેસ. નહોતું જોઈતું તે શીદ આવ્યું રે નહોતી જોઈ તારીવાટ. ઘરમાંથી હળવાં થયાં રે, કહે ખૂણે ઢાડો એની ખાટ. બાળપણથી યુવાની સુધી, હસી ખુશીથી. મોજ મસ્તિથી, તરવરાટ ભરેલી જિંદગી જીવી ગયા. કંઇક કરી બતાવવાની ખુમારી પણ જાણે હર એક પળ જીવનમાં જોવા મળે. પોતાના પરિવાર માટે બધું જ કરી છૂટતા ન જાણે ક્યારે ઘડપણ આવી ગયું, તેની ખબર જ ના રહી જિંદગી આખી
