કમળા કાકી આ વાત 1980ના સાલની છે. દીપેશે કોલેજ પૂરી છ મહિના સુધી અમદાવાદમાં નોકરીની શોધ કરી હતી. છતાં તેને નોકરી ન મળતા પોતાના ગામ ચાણસ્મા પાછો ફર્યો હતો. "તને છેક કોલેજ સુધી ભણાવ્યો છતાં તને નોકરી મળતી નથી. એવું તો તું કેવું ભણ્યો, ભાઇ? કોલેજ પૂરી કર્યા બાદ લોકોને તરત નોકરી મળી જાય અને અમદાવાદ જેવા શહેરમાં કોલેજ પૂરી કર્યા છતાં તને એક નોકરી ના મળી." પિતા દીનેશભાઇએ પુત્ર દીપેશને ઠપકો આપતા પૂછ્યું હતું. "બહુ બધી જગ્યાએ પ્રયત્નો કર્યા પરંતુ મારી બોલતા બોલતા જીભ અચકાય છે માટે જેટલી જગ્યાએ નોકરી માટે ગયો બધાંએ મને ના પાડી દીધી હતી."
