12 મી યોજના દરમિયાન ભારત સરકારના આરોગ્ય અને પરિવાર કલ્યાણ મંત્રાલયના આયુષ વિભાગ દ્વારા રાષ્ટ્રીય આયુષ મિશન અભિયાનનો આરંભ કરવામાં આવ્યો હતો. જેનો અમલ રાજ્યો અને કેન્દ્રશાસિત પ્રદેશો દ્વારા કરવામાં આવશે. આ અભિયાનનો હેતુ આયુર્વેદ, યુનાની અને હોમિયોપેથીની દવાઓ તથા આ દવાઓ બનાવવા માટે નો કાચો માલ, ઔષધ ઉત્પાદકોને સરળતાથી મળી રહે અને લોકોને આ તમામ તબીબી શાખાઓની જરૂરી દવાઓ સરળતાથી મળી રહે તે માટે પ્રોત્સાહક વાતાવરણ ઊભું કરવાનો રહે છે. જેમાં રાજ્યો અને કેન્દ્રશાસિત પ્રદેશોના તબીબો એ કમો ઉત્સાહપૂર્વક ભાગ લેશે એવી આશા રખાઇ છે. આ અભિયાન માટે કેન્દ્રમાં મુખ્ય વિભાગ શરૂ થશે. તેની શાખાઓ બધા રાજ્ય તેમજ કેન્દ્ર
