રાતના બાર વાગવા આવ્યાં હતાં. વાતાવરણમાં વ્યાપેલી નીરવ શાંતિમાં બહારથી તમરાઓનો ત્રમ - ત્રમ અવાજ અને રૂમમાં ચાલતાં પંખાનો અવાજ આવી રહ્યો હતો. આશી તકિયામાં મોઢું છુપાવીને ડૂસકાં ભરી રહી હતી. એના હાથમાં એક જૂની ફોટો ફ્રેમ પડી હતી. એ ફોટોને જોઈને એની આંખમાંથી સતત આંસુ વહી રહ્યા હતાં. કોઈ એવી વેદના હતી જે એ ન કહી શકતી ન સહી શકતી હતી. મૌન અશ્રુધારા એની વેદનાની જાણે એની વેદનાની વાચા હતી. એ આમ જ આંસુ વહાવતા કયારે સુઈ ગઈ એ ખબર ન પડી. રોજ સવારે એના પપ્પા મંત્રોચ્ચાર કરતાં એના એ કાને પડતાં એની આંખો ખુલતી.
