''છોકરો લોઅર મિડલ ક્લાસ છે માસી. રોજ કમાઈને રોજ ખાનારું ખાનદાન છે. આજની મોંઘવારીમાં વીસ-બાવીસ હજારથી શું થાય? તમે જ કહો મને. બે માણસને લગાડેલા ઈન્ક્વાયરી કરવા. કોઈ સુપર માર્કેટમાં સેલ્સમેન છે છોકરો. નાનું મકાન છે વન બી.એચ.કે.નું.'' ઈન્કમટેક્સના કાગળિયાં ભેગાં કરતાં કરતાં ચંદ્રેશ માસી સાથે ફોન પર ઇન્ક્વાયરી રીઝલ્ટ કહી રહ્યો હતો, ''આજુબાજુ નકરો મજૂર વર્ગ રહે છે. તો પણ તમે કહેતા હોવ તો બોલાવું એને. ને કરીએ આપણે વાત.'' સામે છેડે માસી શું બોલ્યાં એ રસોડામાં ભાખરી કરતી ધરાએ સાંભળ્યું નહીં. પણ અંદાજ લગાવવો મુશ્કેલ નહોતો કારણ કે જવાબમાં ચંદ્રેશે કહ્યું કે, ''પ્રેમ તો આંધળો હોય માસી. છોકરીને
