ગણિત ગમ્મત હોઈ શકે એ બહુ નાનપણમાં એમણે શિખવાડી દીધેલું, મને એ નિહાબિકા કહીને બોલાવતા. કારણ એ કે મારા નામ નિહારીકા માં આવતો 'ર' એ ગણિતની ભાષામાં બગડો થાય. ને પછી તો હું ય એમને સુબેશભાઈ કહેતી, સુરેશભાઈ નહીં.. એ મારા ભાઈ થાય એવી સમજણ નહીં એ ઉંમરે. મને તો મારે ઘરે કોઈ પણ સમયે 'કેમ મામા સાહેબ ?' કહીને આવી ચડતા પપ્પાના મિત્ર જ લાગતા ને છેવટ સુધી એમ જ રહ્યું. સંબંધી હોવાની સાથે પડોશી ય ખરા એટલે હું ય એમને ત્યાં ગમે ત્યારે જઈ ચડતી ને એમના જ ઘરમાં એમને ફરિયાદો ય કરતી. એ મને ગંભીરતાથી સાંભળતા ને
